Just reading the christening story so just wondering - what was your worst txt moment?
I once sent a txt to my friend slagging her off. I was having a conversation with her and another girl and got confused (wine and txt do not mix people!) It was a brutal rundown of her personality. She has forgiven me (long story) and we have moved on after I apologised but it can still make me cringe. So are you in the mood to share??

I use a keyboard where I stroke from key to key to type a word instead of tapping and it always displays "dirty" when I try to type "sorry" like that, so I've often sent messages like "I'm feeling really dirty for name at the moment" or "I'm so dirty that I'll be home late tonight"

When I was a teen I had a really hardcore crush on a boy who didn’t feel the same way. I was really keen to get over my feelings for him as it was quite upsetting seeing him with other girls etc and I knew he wouldn’t even see me in that way - but I couldn’t help how I felt. You know how dramatic teens are 😉

I was texting my friend one night (back in the days where texts were 10p each and phones were topped up with credit so each text was precious!) and she suggested I concentrate on all the things I didn’t like about him to try and put me off.

So I sent her a list of what I didn’t like - that he was quite cocky, a bit on the shorter side, laughed at his own jokes etc. I prefaced it with ‘so the bad stuff about X is...’

Only of course I was thinking about him..so I sent it to him by mistake. My stomach fell out my arse when I realised. He sent me an angry text back and it was possibly the most horrific moment of my teen life!

The good news was he avoided me from then on..which helped me get over him!!

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 01/07/2018 22:36

Not a text.

But someone I work with is known for her questionable fashion sense

At a garden tea party, she turned up wearing fishnets and a belt type skirt. Boobs hanging out

Another colleague of mine text and said " has so and so arrived in a gimp mask"
I took a photo

And then sent it to the woman in question as opposed to the friend who text with " not a gimp mask but close"

I took the battery out of my phone to try and stop it sending!

The dread I feel even recalling that is still as strong, 10 years on.

I once texted my boss to ask if he had a good w**k off. It was supposed to be week but I must have mistyped and for some reason best known to my phone it changed it to a rude word for male masturbation.

He replied "Yes and a good week off too". Mortifying

packofbaloobas · 01/07/2018 22:49

I texted the MD of the company I work in "do you have a hard one instead of DH.

packofbaloobas · 01/07/2018 22:50

Hard on

mamahanji · 02/07/2018 11:15

I still feel sick remembering this.

A friend from church was coming round, and we were going to follow a bible study together.

I sent a really filthy sext to my boyfriend...obviously it didn't go to him did it.

She never came round.

ShatnersWig · 02/07/2018 11:28

What a dull life I must lead. I've never accidentally mis-sent a text to anyone, or ever received one meant for someone else.

Sleepyandtired21 · 02/07/2018 11:35

I just had a narrow escape about five minutes ago, was texting my boss and had my hand on the voice memo button after and was talking about how one of her ideas is a bit shit, think I caught it and deleted it but iPhones automatically delete voice memos from your conversations so I’m worrying about it Confused

I once was the recipient of a picture of my mother's boobs.

Twas meant for my father. I was like 🤮.

ballstomonty · 02/07/2018 12:23

About 6months after finishing college (many years ago)I thought I would give my friend Ed a text.... Ed is blind! I rang him instead

TitzillaTheHun · 02/07/2018 12:33

I accidentally-on-purpose texted a chap I'd met the month before in a professional context, saying I was leaving my boyfriend and looking for some fun, when he replied I claimed it was supposed to be a gossipy text to a friend with a similar name.

Reader, I married him Grin

I did put this on the christening thread but its gone tits up over there.

A wrongly sent text got me dh. Me and my friend used to call each other insulting names as a joke. Also her name is the female version of his name and this was nearly 16 years ago. (I had his number as I was friends with his brother who used his phone on occasion) Anyway she'd been to see me at work and I'd been whinging about how skint I was. We used to help each other out so the next day I text. "Oi ginge. I'm skint. How about you meet me after work and I'll let you buy me a drink and treat me to a kebab?"
It went to the wrong person obviously. He text back. "Bit forward like but yeah go on then". I was dying of embarrassment. Like I said I knew him but only in passing. I rang my mate and told her. She told me to have a drink with him so I didnt hurt his feelings. He turned up we had a drink and within 12 months we're living together, married and with a baby boy. And yes he was ginger too.

xFreePeaceSweetx · 02/07/2018 13:07

Not a text but fb disaster for my db and his fiancee. I was up at 4.30 in the morning a few weeks ago. I couldnt sleep so decided to get up. A notification came up saying she was "Live". So I clicked on and could hear her and my brother going at it hammer and tongs. I don't think it was supposed to happen and you couldnt see anything but mega embarrassment. I noticed someone commented that they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. The post was quickly deleted. I don't know if they know I know...GrinHmm

amusedbush · 02/07/2018 13:14

The only time I've ever done it was really boring! DH's text flashed up on my screen and instead of pressing the notification itself I pressed the message icon, which took me to a conversation with a friend.

She didn't seem to care that I was just at the check out in Tesco and would be home in ten minutes Grin

readyforapummelling · 02/07/2018 13:16

It was definitely more than I bargained for upon opening the message. Mum just cackled down the phone when I rang her to ask if she had realised what she'd done. No shame that woman 😂

MaMisled · 02/07/2018 13:17

One of my two closest friends sent me a text meant for the other friend. I had 3 DC under 4 and my marriage was in its death throes. It basically said " she's a mess, the house is a pig sty, the kids need a bath......I don't feel happy to eat lunch there today!"

amusedbush · 02/07/2018 13:17

TitzillaTheHun

That's the texting equivalent of telling someone via MSN Messenger that you fancied them and if they rejected you, you'd say "OMG I'm soooo sorry, my friend sent that as a joke!!" Grin

readyforapummelling · 02/07/2018 13:23

@MaMisled aw that's awful! I'm really sorry you had to read that from a "friend". I hope you told her to fuck off and found someone who understands how hard it is trying to keep a home going when life kicks you in the balls.

sprinklesandsauce · 02/07/2018 13:39

The other day I texted my friend to say "I will be home later, but might be tired after the f**k race. It was a DUCK race......... Blush Grin Grin

Years ago, A text to say are you coming to the races this afternoon. I didn't want to go, so used B as an excuse and said I can't B stayed longer than expected, what a shame etc. Then sent it to B........... then had to text B to explain that I had enjoyed her visit and really didn't want to go out with A!!! Made me look bad all round really Grin

user7469322 · 02/07/2018 13:46

@xFreePeaceSweetx

I’m pretty sure on FB live videos it tells the person who’s video it is the names of who’s watching and if they’ve left....!

littlemissdynamite · 02/07/2018 14:13

@EverlastingGodstopper

I am deaf. I once texted someone who was unaware:

Sorry, I cannot call as I am dead.

Grin Made me LOL that did!

Gardai · 02/07/2018 14:20

BF invited his 60yr old builder round for sexy times and dinner instead of me.

tccat · 02/07/2018 14:36

Not text but have written some corkers at work, client has been clit on occasion, bank accunt was another, client too busty to attend, deficate instead of deficite ..
