OP a lot of the diet advice out there is rubbish. You need to be eating real whole foods. DO NOT eat things like reduced fat or reduced sugar or skimmed milk. Instead, eat the very best quality of food that you can buy, things like grass-fed butter, grass-fed beef, meat that doesn't contain antibiotics.
Don't buy packaged pre-made foods and do not eat cereal bars, these are full of rubbish, a waste of money and not healthy.
Eat with the seasons so you are buying fresh food at their peak and will also save money. To save money I will often buy frozen spinach and kale and frozen green beans, and then I just throw them into my breakfast egg scramble.
Don't be scared of eating natural fats, these are the things that will help to fill you up and they are good for you. Eat things like avocado, olive oil on salads, etc.
Fruit is great, but it also has a lot of natural sugar in it so don't fill up on fruit or eat a ton of it. I stick to a handful of berries if they are in season and I think of fruit as being dessert not a snack or a breakfast option.
Eating as many green veg as you want is totally fine.
My daily diets and fitness look like this:
5 am: Up for a workout, drink a big glass of warm water with lemon and then drink cool water throughout hour workout class.
7 am: get back home, more water and a cup of coffee with almond milk (I have the kind that isn't sweetened).
11 am breakfast: two scrambled eggs with kale, onions, tomatoes, courgette, pepper and half an avocado OR two eggs with fresh salad, parsley some goats cheese and a squeeze of lemon.
4 PM: about eight berries mixed with chopped nuts and cinnamon
5 PM: 2-mile walk while listening to a great podcast.
8 PM Dinner: grass-fed stake with a big helping of greens OR grass-fed minced beef scrambled with a lot of veg OR Wild salmon with greek salad, etc.
In the summer when it is still light out, I will often go for another walk after dinner.
No eating late in the night, it doesn't help with digestion.
My biggest advice is to eat as naturally as possible, stick to the outside aisle of the store where all the fresh vegetables and meat are. Your body is meant to be eating things in their natural form, so eating foods that are full of fake sugars and sweeteners or comes packed in boxes isn't good for you.
Try to incorporate movement into your life as much as possible. Can you take walks throughout the day? I also am a big believer in women lifting weights, it burns fat and gives you a strong frame (which you will need with kids and which becomes so important the older we get).
My suggestion would be weight lifting three times per week and taking a HIIT class, pilates, etc. three days per week. If taking classes isn't in your budget then youtube classes are great too. I am a big fan of Jillian Micheals 30-day shred. Bike riding is an excellent addition to the workout, it gets you out and moving and will be a great family activity to do with children later on.
You should also consider other self-care things you can do to help TTC. Are you taking a prenatal vit? How are your Vit D levels (so important for conceiving and health). I would cut out all alcohol too if you drink (saves money, calories and is better for your health).
Start doing things that make you feel good and healthy, getting a good nights sleep (not waiting up for your husband, he can take care of himself!), taking relaxing baths, listening to great podcasts and reading a great book. All of these things combined with eating a diet of natural foods and working out will make you feel really good about yourself. Think of these as a lifestyle, not a diet or something to do to get pregnant. Automating all of these things and making them a natural part of your life will keep your whole life healthy.
