try to brief - i have ds(2) and DD(10) i go to work five days a week out of the flat by 7.45am, drop ds at cm and dd at school, i come home and elephant woman sahm sunbathing all afternoon, her kids coming in my garden, her drinking wine all afternoon, on benefits that i pay for, then i have the stomping about and screaming kids til at least 9pm!!!i no longer talk to her as i complained and she turned quite nasty and wanted to argue the toss about it on the doorstep, i could complain to landlord about it, if it gets much worse over the summer i probably will, ok calm now that i have got that off my chest!!

Good for you Nightowl, again i say its the nuisance issue not benefits issue, its a stick to beat people with if they pee you off, advice dont give them sticks, be a considerate neighbour most of the time and you havent got a problem,

OP posts:
nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:28

what do you mean "dont give them sticks!"

itbird · 25/05/2007 20:29

lol yeah actually got my boys jcb digger, doing a lovely job babyblue

OP posts:
itbird · 25/05/2007 20:31

sticks to beat you with, you know ammunition, dont give people the ammunition, basically keep yourself to yourself that sort of thing, another one, dont poo on your own doorstep

OP posts:
nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:33

whats the stick? the benefit? or the noise?

nappyaddict · 25/05/2007 20:34

btw nightowl did you get my email?

mishw · 25/05/2007 20:34

You know what itbird, it probably isn't worth it. They obviously don't have neighbours like yours. If your are anything like mine it isn't that they don't realise that they are making a noise and disturbing people its that they don't care.

If I were you I would try and talk to her again but if that doesn't work then complain. Why should you have to suffer.

nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:37

i dont know nappy, havent checked it yet .

mishw, it wasnt about the noise. good luck claiming benefit, you see how differently you get treated then. walk a mile.

itbird · 25/05/2007 20:38

nightowl, the stick is the lifestyle, the carpark, the walking in my flat uninvited, the kids asking me for ice lollies etc while mummy darling is sitting sunbathing etc etc.

OP posts:
nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:40

lock the door then?

DeviousDaffodil · 25/05/2007 20:41

itbird - I totally get where you are coming from.
I have to go now, goodluck batting all those bricks!

mishw · 25/05/2007 20:43

Nightowl get off your high horse. As I've said before, I too have claimed benefits in the past so don't need to walk the mile.

I will admit, I could be totally wrong, but how are you so sure that you are right that is about benefits and not noise. Do you know itbird? Do you know her neighbour?

itbird · 25/05/2007 20:44

Nightowl it was a rant about nuisance neighbours which i said she was a sahm on benefits, some of you picked up on that aspect of my rant and wanted to play devils advocate. lets agree to disagree

OP posts:
Desiderata · 25/05/2007 20:47

itbird, I've admired your demeanour throughout this thread. I took a small grievance at your original OP, but you've been a star.

Apologies for my early post, and good luck.

nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:48

do you know personally, all women on benefit and why they claim them mishw? do you know itbird and her neighbour?

if not, i think we are both equally entitled to our opinion.

and my opinion was that mentioning benefit was irrelevant.

itbird · 25/05/2007 20:48

In the middle of summer, lock my door, no thanks love, i live in a lovely area, have a beautiful garden which i fully enjoy and intend to enjoy in the future, just a shame about the nuisance.

OP posts:
itbird · 25/05/2007 20:49

Aw thanks Desi, made me smile x

OP posts:
nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:52

itbird, i can agree to disagree. am a little sensitive to the benefit thing.

itbird · 25/05/2007 20:55

Hope you have a nice evening Nightowl

itbird · 25/05/2007 20:56

Wont send you a kiss btw, probably get accused of being a sexist lesbian!! lol

OP posts:
nightowl · 25/05/2007 20:57

fwiw, im not a complete biatch and do know about nuisance neighbours

itbird · 25/05/2007 21:01

NO not a biatch at all, my empathy to all the people who have nuisance neighbours, but in the scheme of things it is not the end of the world but it sure does drive you crackers x

OP posts:
mishw · 25/05/2007 21:01

No I don;t personally know all women on benefit or why they claim and no I don;t personally know itbird or her neighbour - which is why said that I will admit that I may have it all wrong.

I agree that we are all entitled to our own opinions. My original gripe was that I felt that everyone was being too hard on the OP for what I felt was a rant to get something that was bugging her off her chest and to her the fact that this mother doesn;t work and is on benefits was relevant - whether it was to you or not.

I can understand you being sensitive about benefits, I'm not too happy about having to claim myself, but everyone does what they have to do and I''m quite sure that this mother in particular doesn;t need to make as much noise as she does in the evenings or allow her children to walk into other peoples property.

Desiderata · 25/05/2007 21:01

Nightowl (and you're too early, nocturnal fluffy) , the OP apologized a long way down the thread for some of the wording in the original posting. It was a rant. I've had appalling neighbours myself, in the past.

Please don't get hung up on the benefits thing. I claim some too. I've paid taxes for 23 years, and if I can't get something back for raising yet another tax payer, then there's something woefully wrong with the country.

We've all posted inflammatory OP's. Most of us don't mean to ... shit happens. But itbird has stood by her thread. I would have disappeared long ago.

mishw · 25/05/2007 21:04

Have to say itbird for some people it is the end of the world. My neighbours temporarily moved into another flat and completely terrorised their neighbour who was beside himself with worry and was about to put in for a transfer as he couldn;t cope (he'd moved here to get away from neighbours from hell)

I hope your situation improves
