My dd is 14 and we live in a university town.

How does this sound:
We ask a student (probably postgrad for maturity) to stay at our house so dd isn’t alone when we go out a couple of times a week. Cereal plus dinner included but no visitors and no using the living room. No rent.

Just thinking of ideas. Is this U?

So the plan would be living with you full time for free with the agreement that they are asked out their room two nights a week to look after your child but outside of that they're to stay in their room, have no visitors and generally don't get in your way?

You'll cook their dinner and provide cereal so they don't need any food in your fridge, they can eat lunch out our on their room?

I think you'd do better advertising for someone to watch her a few nights a week tbh.

Have seen your other thread, but this one's weirder.

I can't get my head around the idea of someone who is desperate to advance their own social life so much yet so overprotective of their daughter.

"Not had a night out in years" - well boo, freaking hoo. It hasn't suddenly become a necessity to go out eight times a month. Go out three times a month and see how it goes.

If you genuinely haven't been out in years, I bet YOU'LL be exhausted staying out past midnight regularly.

OP who are you going out with twice a week?
