AIBU to ask for teenage make up recommendations

Have posted in Style and Beauty but posting here for traffic!
My dd (15 in October) is a bridesmaid at a family wedding in August. She’s not really a make up wearer, tends to borrow mine on holidays and if we go out but only bronzer and mascara.
She wants make up on the day both for herself and the photos. Any good quality but relatively inexpensive products you would recommend for teens? I’m thinking a tinted moisturiser etc. as she’s not nabbing my Armani foundation!

Thanks in advance!

mine have always chosen their own from Boots or superdrug

but if my posh foundation was the right colour and weight I would lend it for the day if she didn't want any generally!

Nyx is nice quality, as is Maybeline.

Boots No7 stuff is quite nice too.

Merryoldgoat · 26/06/2018 11:18

You could go for a Bobbi Brown makeup lesson and buy equivalent stuff from a cheaper range.

Try Makeup Revolution in Superdrug. For young skin I would recommend the bourjois healthy mix serum foundation, v light and natural with a nice (non glittery) glow

I'd say you'll have more luck with a BB cream, maybelline does a good one. That or a good concealer, I'd recommend the collection lasting perfection one, with powder overtop (collection, again, do a good one). To avoid looking cakey, get a cheap makeup sponge and wet it, then ring it out and use that to blend her face products.
Eyeshadow I'd recommend the Maybelline colour tattoos, or the loreal pigmants. MUA do a good eyeliner if she likes it smudged, or max factor for less smudged.
For lipstick, try the bourjois rouge velvet if she wants staying power, or maybe a Revlon tinted lip balm thing (I forget the name but it has quilted packaging in the colour of the lipstick), they're quite sheer but some lovely colours.
HTH!

Maybelline for base and make up revolution (superdrug) or NYX for colours. Both Revolution and NYX have fantastic followings in the beauty world

Really helpful, thanks everyone! Will pack her off to Boots and Superdrug for a play! Smile
