to feel frustrated by baby kicks?

Baby kicks, all the bloody time. It's lovely, and annoying, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm 21 weeks and it can be felt quite strongly from the outside now. I will sit there for half an hour feeling a kick every minute or so baby is that active! Every time, and I mean EVERY TIME I get DP to feel the kicks just stop. It's like baby knows when it's me with my hand there! DP is starting to think the kicks are all in my head and he's lost complete interest in feeling them. AIBU to find this super frustrating, and to also ask how long it took for your DP to feel little one kicking?

He'll feel them soon. I've had strong kicks since week 18 and DP has only just started feeling them the past few weeks. I'm 24 weeks and sometimes the kicks are quite uncomfortable, it's like she's doing Riverdance.

I'm 33 weeks and this is still happening to me!!!! My dh has only felt her once!

Leannah5 · 24/06/2018 11:33

@Nothisispatrick they're so strong. I can literally feel baby scraping from one side to the other sometimes.

@Sparklesanddiamomdsforever isn't it weird!!

I had something similar, except not with DH but anyone else. I think we must subconsciously tense our stomachs or something when someone touches us as we are priming ourselves for them to feel, and this must stop the baby! That’s my own little theory anyway 🙈 it’s very annoying, my poor mother only felt him move at 8 months after months and months of trying!

Cornettoninja · 24/06/2018 13:25

Yup dd was the same. Every elusive when dp tried to feel a kick like a tiny elephant the rest of the time.

I remember feeling distinct fingers dragging across my belly. We’d been discussing Fred as a name and that put me right off!

WooYa · 24/06/2018 13:31

I started feeling kicks at 16 week and DH didn’t feel any until 21 weeks... every time DH went anywhere near my belly DS stopped 🙄😂

Thehop · 24/06/2018 13:32

My husband never managed to feel our daughter! I used to put stuff on my belly for her to kick off so he could see 😂

Mammyofasuperbaby · 24/06/2018 13:35

I had the opposite. My dp could feel our DS kicking away but I couldn't feel a thing except when he'd stamp on my bladder at the most inconvenient moments

IfYouDontImagineNothingHappens · 24/06/2018 13:57

It will get so strong he won't be able to avoid it.

My DD used to wake my husband up kicking him in the back in bed. I would sleep through. Shock

Minesril · 24/06/2018 14:04

Mine used to kick late at night, luckily dh is a night owl. 'That baby was having a party last night!'

ToastyFingers · 24/06/2018 14:58

This happened to us with both DDs. We used to joke that DH had magic baby calming hands. Try cuddling up to the back of him when your in bed, with your stomach on his back iyswim and he should feel it then.
