I'm sure I'm too young to have so many aches and pains when I first get up in the morning! I'm 28 years old and always wake up with terrible lower back pains, achey ankles and really sore joints in my fingers from where (I think) I lay on my hands in the night. It all wears off after a while, but am I slowly falling apart or is this normal?!

About 10 years ago, I started to have aching finger joints in the morning. Then over time, gradually spread to every joint in my body. The worst pain is right between my shoulder blades.
Funnily enough, the deeper sleep I have, the worse I feel the next day. Getting out of bed in the morning, I feel like I'm 90! This began in my 40's.

Changing the mattress has made no difference.

Dr says it's fibromyalgia. I take pain killers and also vitamin D 'the sunshine vitamin'.

There's good days and bad days.

I don't mind having painful joints when there is a reason for it, but with this - it makes no sense.

😐

I just thought it was going to be like that forever - felt so stiff and achey from the start of my 40s. But now having sorted some health issues, taking some supplements and doing yoga stretches regularly I don't even ache after a days walking any more, it's fab.

Read up about ankylosing spondylitis

I wake up aching in my hips and legs everyday. I'm 30 and it's been like this for about 4 years. Thought it was normal and just part of aging! Having read this thread I may also get myself checked!

Hope doctor's goes well OP, let us know how you get on.

I have Psoriatic Arthritis and generally wake up feeling as if I’ve been thrown off a cliff.

It took me ages to get diagnosed so I’d definitely suggest seeing your GP for bloods.

Lower back and hips and pelvis hurt - but they always hurt... I'm that percentage who never recovered from PGP during pregnancy.

Definitely not the mattress - the bed's pretty much brand new! (Hurt is slightly less on the new one than the old one)

That’s me too Bing. My ‘baby’ is 12 but my hips feel about 90 😕
