Men in tracksuits

Just that really. Would you go out with a man in tracksuits?

Unless they're doing sport or lounging round the house, it's a no from me.

FlyingElbows · 23/06/2018 13:43

Fine for participating in sport or lounging about the house. As attire for wearing in public, no. And absolutely definitely never those manky polyester "I should be on Police Interceptors" type trackies. I fully own my snobbery though.

Jammycustard · 23/06/2018 13:45

No, actually.

Cellardoor23 · 23/06/2018 13:45

My DP hates seeing grown men in track suits or track suit bottoms. I don't really like that look either, not enough to get worked up about it, but it seems to annoy him more than it annoys me, which I find amusing Grin

shiklah · 23/06/2018 13:52

My DH wears a tracksuit all the time.

He's a 6 foot 6 fitness model and has a shaved head too. Unbelievably hot in my book, but then I also have DC with names that are considered "chavy' by MN, like Tiffany jewellery and am one of 12 kids so yeah, I'm a low class in most peoples eyes. But I am really happy and content, so I don't give a shit what anyone thinks Grin

overitalready · 23/06/2018 13:56

Nothing i like more than my DH in his grey joggers at home even better if he has no pants on underneath

Crispsbuttyandtea · 23/06/2018 13:59

I'm talking about those grey/green full tracksuits, not to lounge around the house but wear it when they're out and about. I had this discussion with a friend, and personally I don't like it. I don't find men in tracksuits attractive, I don't mind teenagers wearing it. But not grown men.

ForalltheSaints · 23/06/2018 14:03

I am a man, and agree that most look awful, and so do not wear them.

gamerwidow · 23/06/2018 14:07

I think men and women should be allowed to wear what is comfortable as long as it appropriate to the situation. I don’t care that my DH wears tracksuits he finds them comfortable and I don’t police his clothes. I care about is a man intelligent, reliable and kind none of which you can tell from clothes.

ICantCopeAnymore · 23/06/2018 14:09

No, unless it was for sport. But then I hate sport so wouldn't date a man who was into sport.

No all round.

motherhood1 · 23/06/2018 14:19

I don't like them personally, don't mind them being worn around the house but why would anyone want to go out in one? Shows a lot about presentation I think

HushabyeMountainGoat · 23/06/2018 14:23

DH wears joggers and tshirt around the house and walking the dog. He'll put jeans on to go anywhere other than the local shop.

It would put me off someone if that was all they wore tbh.

TroysMammy · 23/06/2018 14:24

Grey joggers the most awful piece of clothing invented. Wearing them out shows you've either been in prison or have given up on life. Those wearing grey joggers and a hoodie combo should be shot on sight.

tripYouOut · 23/06/2018 14:34

@TroysMammy

But your son is called Troy? If so, surely most men you meet wear hoodies and jogging bottoms?

Firesuit · 23/06/2018 14:37

I don't think there's anything wrong with grey joggers. It's not the grey joggers that the problem, it's that the men wearing them are hurting your eyes. Clean grey joggers on the man of your dreams would look absolutely fine.

Full disclosure: I wear them for walking DD from school. I am not the man of you dreams. They are actually my posh clothes suitable for public view, as soon as I get home I change into pyjama trousers.

Olddear · 23/06/2018 14:37

DH wears joggers/t shirt at home. But, no, I wouldn't go out with someone if they were wearing a tracksuit.

UtterlyDesperate · 23/06/2018 15:14

Cough GrinGrinGrin

BexleyRae · 23/06/2018 15:18

DP wears tracksuits a lot and I pretty much live in leggings, we're happy, but im sure a few mumsnetters would have opinions Grin

lilypotter88 · 23/06/2018 15:29

@BexleyRae us too! Comfort over everything x

BexleyRae · 23/06/2018 15:42

@lilypotter88 yes exactly! I don't judge what other people choose to wear and value my comfort and practicality of chasing a toddler

AuntieStella · 23/06/2018 15:46

If 'out and about' means on way to/from a fixture of some sort, then yes usually attractive - not about being fit (either senses) but about intention/attitude.

DextroDependant · 23/06/2018 16:01

I must be low class because men in grey joggers look good to me.

crispysausagerolls · 23/06/2018 16:05

DH has a few pairs for around the house that he tries to nip to the shops in, but I’ve banned this as you can see the outline of his willy 😂😂😂 he wore them once when my brothers came round and they mocked him mercilessly, so now he’s a bit more discerning about when he wears them

HildaZelda · 23/06/2018 16:11

No. Especially not if he'd tucked it into a pair of white socks as well.

TroysMammy · 23/06/2018 16:43

trioYouOut Troy was my dearly beloved cat.
