To think 35 is too old to meet someone?

I'm really missing my ex (we split up beginning of May). I'm 35, a widow, with 3 kids - who is going to want me, seriously? Sad

I feel I have so much to give, but feel so scared I'm not going to meet anyone else Sad

I guess it would be reassuring to hear stories of people who have met their 'one' at my age or older?

I'm 34 and found out last week I have incurable cancer. As you know, life is far too short so just make the most of it. I only got married last year and it's been the best year ever (although not health wise obviously 😁)

You're still so young and you WILL meet someone Thanks

You don't stop loving at 34, nor do you stop being loved.
If you're a lovely woman, someone's going to be out there to love you - you just have to be open to seeing a lovely man.

If you have a checklist, then throw it away. That's not to say you should compromise on your hard limits, but give enough room for love to do its magic.

You might well feel old, but you're not. Just be yourself and not a walking advert saying 'I need a man'. Hopefully being yourself will be advert enough to a man capable of seeing inside a woman.

purpleunicorns I am sorry to hear that.

Snowysky20009 · 23/06/2018 16:45

Split up with my ex several months ago, 2 ds in their teens, and have been seeing my dp for a few moths. We've known each years though and it should have happened a long time ago! I'm 37!!!

Snowysky20009 · 23/06/2018 16:47

'purpleunicorns' I'm so sorry to hear that. But you are right and it shows why we have to make the most of the time we have as none of us know what's around the corner! WineGinFlowers

I was 34 when I met the love of my life. You are still very young OP

TornFromTheInside · 23/06/2018 16:49

@purpleunicorns I didn't ignore your post, I just knew there was nothing I could say. I think you'll know what I mean x

I met my husband at 34 or 35 (too tired to work it out) and I had three children. I really wasn't looking for a relationship but it happened anyway 😆

Bramble71 · 23/06/2018 16:53

35 is not too late at all, OP. I was 37 when I started seeing my now husband.

I truly believe that you'll find someone when you're not even looking. Just get on with life, be positive and it will happen.

bumblingbovine49 · 23/06/2018 17:09

My sister got married (for the first time, so not a second marriage) aged 47yrs old. That was 13 years ago. 34 is definitely not too old to meet someone!!

I married my DH at 39 years old (met when I was 34). We now have a 13 years old DS

SC459 · 24/06/2018 10:47

You're still young!!! Don't worry!! Flowers

These posts are reassuring. Newly separated at 32 and feel like my world has imploded. Also hope I’m not too old to meet someone new. I still want a life partner at the end of the day! Xx

HRTpatch · 26/08/2018 13:55

I met someone at 34 and also at 54.

Darkstar4855 · 26/08/2018 14:04

I was single at 35 after finally working up the courage to leave my emotionally abusive, controlling ex. Thought I’d just stay single as I couldn’t face the idea of another relationship.

Six months later met the love of my life completely by accident. He was so worth the wait. We now have a very happy, healthy, nurturing relationship and are expecting our first child in December.

Don’t give up hope!

Slightly younger but not far off - I met my DF at 33. Both divorced. I have two DC who he absolutely adores and who adore him. We are expecting a baby next year when I’ll be 35 and he’ll be nearly 37. I’ve never been so happy and secure in a relationship.
