Wearing a jacket with a message saying "I don't care, do you" on it to a detention camp is a very weird choice.

But all the people saying it's a message about immigrants, or a message about her feelings on her marriage or whatever else is... stretching it a bit.

She's a woman who isn't known for her towering intellect and is stuck in a marriage to the orange one. She never wanted to be first lady. She has been dragged into stuff she has no interest in.

So she's grabbed a coat without pausing to think about it, and been seen wearing it before someone could provide something more appropriate. It;s not a message. It's the actions of someone fairly dim and uneducated, and who doesn't understand the political game.

I think wearing the slogan jacket was deliberate but have no idea who the message was aimed at. Totally inappropriate and stupid given the circumstances.

Whatever the message was, I don't think she was saying she doesn't care about the detained immigrant children. That makes no sense whatsoever considering she chose to go and visit them, highlight the horrible situation they're in and undermine her husband's policy.

My best guess is it was a message directly to her husband, and not a nice one. Having had her down as a professional clothes horse who married an ogre purely for his money, she's actually gone up a little in my estimation.

Mind you I don't suppose she does care. After all her and hers are alright Jack, aren't they well, if people who are alright cannot be expected to care, we're sunk, aren't we?
I'm comfortable nowadays (after much distress in my life) but I care deeply.

Regardless of intention she knows, and her staff know, that people will see what she’s wearing. She and her team know what’s going on with the kids in the detention centres - wearing something like that is of course going to be received badly when such a sensitive and upsetting humanitarian crisis is going on. She and her team are in politics, they know better.

She knew exactly what she was doing. Wouldn't surprise me if it was done deliberately to distract the nation from some other atrocity of their choosing.

We don’t know what’s she’s getting in private.

We do know that he’s serially unfaithful.

We know she’s been humiliated by the fact that Trump had an affair with a porn actress when she had a newborn baby.

We can imagine than she’s dealing with an 11yo boy who is no doubt struggling with the sordid revelations about his Father’s behaviour. Probably having to deal with bullying too.

Despite the fact that her husband and his staff will not have wanted her anywhere near that Detention Center she went anyway.

I think that says quite a lot for her.

I don't know much about these people (Trumps) but i would guess that man is an awful enemy to have. Can you imagine the sort of clauses and nuptial agreements he has drawn up for this marriage? I would hazard a guess she's 100 times safer staying by his side in plain sight carrying on being his wife.

I think the coat thing is the closest thing to rebelling she can get up to.
