AIBU to feel as though I'm off on a spa day?

I've got x3 kids. I'm self employed. I rarely get any time to myself. Not doing some sort of domestic or paid work? Never.

Today I'm going to give evidence at a magistrates court. I got up while DH sorted the kids. Showered with the door locked. Got dressed uninterrupted. Left at 8am. Put MY OWN music on in the car. I have a DAY hanging about waiting to be called (or not). Apart from being called into court, my day is basically my own to read, write, muse, think.

I don't take my legal responsibility lightly. BUT. Wowzer - this feels like FREEDOM!!!!!

Sounds amazing! Enjoy your day without 850 cries of muuuuuuuum.

Sounds like you need more time off.

Zeze247 · 22/06/2018 08:37

And even if you get called at 10 take the whole day

This is actually quite sad. You need more opportunities to have time to yourself. How much free time does your DH get?

The arsehole defendant, despite overwhelming evidence against him, is still deciding how to plead.

I've written an article. Had a cup of coffee and am now having a nice chat.

The poor victim is having an awful, stressful day and I feel for her so much.

I feel you, OP. Just been to the dentist, which I’ve looked forward to for weeks, and now I’m sat in my car in the car park internetting for ten minutes before I have to go home & the grind starts all over again.
