To ask about "Forest holidays"

So we've stayed at center parcs for our last two holidays, it has been perfect for us having a toddler and baby but now I'm back to work we need cheaper holidays as limited to school holidays!

Anyway, i stumbled across forest holidays and it looks a similar set up to center parcs but without the pool... however there is the added bonus of a hot tub!

It is also half the price of center parcs.. however I've never known anyone go before!

So if anyone has done a forest holiday I would be grateful if you could share your experiences, especially if anyone has done center parcs too, for comparison!

Also agree with Darwin. We’ve been three times.

I've been to the Sherwood Forest one. Great lodges and great setting. There is very little to do on-site, just a small restaurant & shop and small play area for kids. But, it's five minutes walk to the Sherwood Forest Visitor's Centre where there's Go Ape, bike hire, and 3 or 4 different play areas for kids of different ages, and a den building area, all within a mile or so of the centre. There are also plenty of trails through the woods including a Gruffalo trail, etc. I went with my 4 year old who loved it. He was quite happy with all the play areas and we never really got further than them when out for a walk. We had a 13 year old with us as well who was less enthralled by it. But for pre-schoolers, I think the Sherwood Forest is great if they enjoy being outdoors.
