Popped in on our way home from a weekend away. There were two school groups there.

The first group were walking around, clustered next to their teachers, one of whom had actually taken the trouble to dress up in medieval clothing. It was very clear that that these kids were inspired by their surroundings. When we walked past, one of the teachers was explaining something about the structure of the place, and the children were hanging on her every word.

School goup two had obviously been taken there and just dumped. They were charging around, over excited, screaming at the top of their voices and bumping into people. I was gobsmacked when I came across their three teachers who were sitting next to each other on a bench, each tapping away on their phones, not even talking to each other, and completely oblivious to what was going on.
What is the point of school trips to places like this ?
