To be tempted to give up trying to organise things with my friend

My friend messaged me this morning asking if I'm free to meet up either tomorrow or Thursday. I was quite surprised because she is rarely the one to initiate meet ups but it might be because she knows I'm going away for a few weeks at the weekend. I replied a few minutes later saying that tomorrow would suit. Since she initiated it, I had thought she must have a time and place in mind but she just said "okay". I have asked her if she's thinking of a certain time and have told her what would suit me best.

However, this friend is notoriously difficult to meet up with. She hasn't read the message, let alone replied, and part of me expects that she won't reply until tomorrow, maybe suggesting tomorrow evening, which would be the worst time for me, although still doable. She has done that sort of thing before. But it means I can't relax all day or go and do what I need to do in peace because I will have it in the back of my mind that I need to keep an eye on my phone in case she replies and expects me to drop everything. I want to see her, but all of the rigmarole I have to go through to do so is starting to make me resent her. What should I do?

Can’t you just phone her?

slowrun · 18/06/2018 19:52

I'd text and ask her when because you've a few other things you need to do.

slowrun · 18/06/2018 19:54

Skip that realised you were quite specific in you last text. Yes, as Pp suggested, phone her.

Ladi85 · 18/06/2018 19:57

Text again and say just to let you know, I have a few things to do tomorrow and can only meet between x and y time. Let me know if that suits you.

Just text her a time that suits you and let her do the running.
