to apply for a job where an ex-colleague works

A few months ago I was contacted by a company asking if I was interested in a job currently advertised there. At the time, things were a bit hectic for me and it wasn't the right time to start going through the job hunting/application process.

Someone I used to know (an ex-colleague) got the job.

Now, another job has come up at that company. I need a new job, and this is better money and a better location for me so I'm thinking about applying. What I'm worried about is whether the ex-colleague would be annoyed at me 'following' them there? We got on quite well, but I know some people can be funny about people from the past coming into their new companies (if I getthe job that is).

Is it a big no no or is it a case of all is fair in this situation?

Of course it’s fine. Good luck.

I don't even think I would have given this a second thought and would have applied for the job.

I honestly have no idea why this would be a problem at all. Unless there’s some massive back story.

Definitely apply if you want the job.

Apply for the job!

Where I work there’s three big companies that it’s literally like a revolving door with people changing.

Do what’s best for you. You aren’t disadventaging them

Do what is best for you .

I can't think why it would be a problem. In my industry it's incredibly common, you move jobs and see people you've worked with in the past.

Is there a referral bonus at the new place? Ask him to refer you.

Nothing to do with them. It’s s small world in any field. Go for it.

This is very common in my field. Go for it!
