Also, you really don't know what goes on in relationships behind closed doors. Often people who look mismatched or bizarre together have something that keeps them together. I wouldn't be surprised if falling for the PA happened as a natural extension of her job - they spend time together & she is used to his quirks and preferences

LucilleBluth · 17/06/2018 09:28

Oh for gods sake. Celebrity gossip is a multi million pound industry. It does not make one morally superior to look down on it. Don't click the thread if it offends you so much. I only ever see this sanctimonious attitude on MN.

In the book Sapiens the author writes about how humans ability to communicate and gossip helped us evolve above other species.

Slartybartfast · 17/06/2018 09:30

actually i dont care when he hooked up with his pa.
why should i?

Thespringsthething · 17/06/2018 09:38

I don't care either if he is in a relationship with another adult similar aged woman to himself. Seems fairly ok to me. I'm not that interested in his overlap/moving on from his marriage, as is said on MN all the time, it's actually ok to leave a marriage that isn't working for you, they didn't have children and don't need to stay together 'for the kids' (which I don't agree with anyway). He's a troubled individual, he's found someone nice, I wouldn't want that if I were her, but she does, all normal really.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 17/06/2018 09:39

LucilleBluth, I'll click whatever thread I want to thanks. Set up your own nasty bitch site if you want like minded thigh-rubbers only. You don't get to determine who posts here.

I can't believe you think that the ability to 'gossip' so spitefully about other people is anything to be lauded when it's just dumbed down for a very specific target group. I'm delighted not to be 'on your page', I'd never want to be. I wouldn't listen to you in RL either, I'd look at you quizzically, briefly ponder what is wrong with you and walk off.

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 17/06/2018 09:48

How they have even had a career is beyond me. Such canned humour.

I hope his career is in ruins after his mess.

Agog at the notion that 'gossip helps us evolve over other species'.

This thread is no example. Just nasty.

BuggedLife, your post is beyond, absolutely vile.

EveningHare · 17/06/2018 09:53

fucking hell BuggedLife Her marriage has broken down (no matter who is at fault) and its all over the press that he has moved on, and you are now calling her puffy and ugly!?!

Arent you just a ray of sunshine!

Raffles1981 · 17/06/2018 09:54

I don't get why Lisa is painted as the victim. We have no idea what went on and it does take two to make or break a marriage. The best anyone can hope for is happiness after a dark time.

Slartybartfast · 17/06/2018 09:56

she is still the same person, even if you say she has put on weight.
wicked comment.

AjasLipstick · 17/06/2018 09:59

He's allowed to live his life. He can move on if he wants to. People do it all the time.

This is why I think marriage is outdated. People just get up and leave these days. What's the point in marriage if it's so easy to walk away?

Why not just see a lawyer and make sure people are provided for in the event of a split? No point in all the traditional crap.

TisNowt · 17/06/2018 10:00

I'm actually shocked at how many people are vilifying him for cheating on his wife when there is absolutely no evidence for this

I agree. I suppose I don’t mind a little gossip or speculation but it’s the way some posters get so outraged and disgusted at something when they have no idea what the truth is.

BuggedLife. Sorry but your comment about Lisa was just plain nasty. What a horrible thing to say!

OnionBridie · 17/06/2018 10:01

Lisa does look really unhealthy and uncared for. A broken heart can do that to a person.

extinctspecies · 17/06/2018 10:02

BuggedLife are you a man?

Because that was such a misogynistic comment to make.

BuggedLife · 17/06/2018 10:03

Oh it's harsh to say it, no doubt about it. But a lot of people have thought it - back then and more recently. She's lost weight since the split but IMO doesn't look a great deal better for it.

I know, I know - I'm obviously the devil and my poor children are being brought up the wrong way and unlucky to have a mother like me. Maybe my husband doesn't find me attractive anymore and maybe people think he is out of my league too. Any more clichés people want to throw my way?!

noeffingidea · 17/06/2018 10:03

I don't get why Lisa is painted as the victim
Thats par for the course on mumsnet.

AjasLipstick · 17/06/2018 10:04

Tis I agree. I think a lot of this sort of outrage is borne of fear. Many women are in a position where if their DH met someone else, they'd be up the creek without a paddle.

My advice to those who feel this fear is to get yourself in a position where you're financially free to take care of yourself. If you ever do end up alone, then it won't be half as bad as it would be doing it in poverty.

heartnothead · 17/06/2018 10:08

Its portrayed as a positive thing but actually at this early stage of recovery it really isn't recommended that he gets in any new relationship and he is not a good role model for two small children.

The time she spends supporting him could be at the expense of time with her dcs

Lets hope he stays sober and doesn't relapse.

I say this as an ex partner of an alcoholic.

cherrytrees123 · 17/06/2018 10:09

If this is true, I wish them both happiness.

MissEliza · 17/06/2018 10:09

No one knows or even should know what went on or who is to blame. I really don't give a crap about Ant McParlin who has made a ridiculous amount of money with little talent. However Lisa does look like someone who has really been through the mill and I feel sorry for her. She looks so pretty in her wedding pictures. I hope she finds happiness.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 17/06/2018 10:10

BuggedLife you're excusing your nasty post now?

All posts like that do is make the poster sound completely inadequate and lacking. It's really not excusable or in any way 'funny', just pitiful.

Slartybartfast · 17/06/2018 10:10

I dont spose Lisa has had an easy time of it
