AIBU to think I can quit smoking and lose weight at the same time?

Posted this in weight loss chat but thought I may get more answers here.

So, I have quit smoking... not doing too bad so far.

But I really, really need to lose weight. I have about 2 stone to get rid of.
Problem is, with quitting smoking at the same time, I find myself putting things in my mouth constantly. Maybe not constantly, but more than I would have before.
I can’t afford to gain any more weight... I hate the way I am. But I also don’t want to continue to smoke.
Has anyone ever managed to do both or am I setting myself up to fail?

Sometimes I think I should tackle the weight first and then quit smoking, especially as I really really don’t want to get any bigger. But at the same time, I worry if I don’t stop smoking now, then I never will.
Any advice?

Stop giving yourself excuses

Do both and get on with it

The perfect time to do it is now

Carrot sticks and frozen grapes are your friend and will keep you from munching the unhealthy stuff. Good luck and well done for giving it all a go (You're braver than me)

The only thing which will cause you to gain or not lose weight is lack of self control. Just don't replace cigs with food, period. Drink water, do stretches, take a walk, turn on some fun music, anything to distract from a craving to smoke. You are doing an amazing job with stopping smoking! That right there shows you have the willpower to do anything you set your mind to! Look at this time in your life as your opportunity to make and keep huge lifestyle changes for a healthier future.

Nicotine replacement? May stop the empty feeling of wanting a cigarette and make it more manageable?
Lozenges worked for me

I would say focus on one thing at a time. So focus on the stop smoking first and then the weight loss.
