She famously said a million pounds wasn’t a lot of money and boasted of collecting houses like other people collect art.

If you think that was big-headed, brace yourself – because Catherine Zeta-Jones says she’s had enough of being modest.

The Welsh star, who is married to Hollywood legend Michael Douglas, says it is high time she stops apologising for her £200million fortune, stunning looks and Oscar-winning talent.

Catherine, 48, says: “One thing I’m not is humble any more. I’m sick of being humble. I really am. ‘So sorry I’m rich, so sorry I’m married to a movie star, so sorry I’m not so bad looking.’

“No sorrys. Enough. All that is important to me now is my work.

On one hand I say good for her, on the other it comes across as twatty.

I love that Dawn French video!

And Dawn's magnificent norks! Grin

I wonder what she would look like now if she had remained in Swansea. Nobody needs to be sorry for their good fortune, do they? Humble always makes me think of Uriah Heep.

She's had a lot of work.

Housewife2010 · 16/06/2018 07:55

I don't think her £200 million pound fortune is wholly down to hard work and talent. Her marriage has given her excellent connections and publicity. ( Although she is busy bumping up her fortune selling homeware on QVC). If she had stayed with John Leslie I think she'd be appearing in Casualty or Emmerdale.

They sold up in Bermuda (MD's mother is from the island) because Dylan has language-based special needs and it was recommended he go to a specific school in New York which specialised in that area. They're in Manhattan now.

When you read of celebrities supporting charities, it's often the celebrity who benefits the most. One of the most surefire ways of boosting their popularity is giving their name to good causes. Just quietly writing a cheque doesn't have the same affect. People get taken in too easily.

Said by a much older woman fucking a much younger man.

FTRT - You lucky sod! Wink

No i won't pipe down furrywall most rich people support charities, but that doesn't mean they'd part with large chunks of their money. Nothing they'd miss anyway.

I'm pretty sure that in the US, charitable donations can be offset against tax - it can actually save you money to give it away. (Not that I'm saying that this is CZJ's motive. I'm just commenting.)

SoftBallSophie · 26/06/2018 16:09

I think that article makes her sound like a real knob

I bet it was edited to make her sound that way tbh

Good for her and all her money, pity about all those trying to scrape by every month.

VanillaSugar · 26/06/2018 18:17

Has anyone seen CZJ flogging her homewares on QVC? Why is she doing that, do you think?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/06/2018 21:11

Money, Vanilla

Money . . .
