Happens all the time, people on private property where it's banned feel perfectly entitled to smoke because it's outside (and chuck the end on the ground). What goes through their head?

Yes, smokers are evil, rude, disrespectful, smelly and will die young.

Thats pretty much the thread, tracie. Theres not really much more to add. It is bad.

traciebanbanjo · 14/06/2018 22:49

The people that have to work near to where they are smoking (like me) will also smell and die young. How is that fair?

Sarahlou63 · 14/06/2018 22:50

What goes through their head? Nicotene, mainly. Lovely puffs

Tangled59 · 14/06/2018 22:54

@traciebanbanjo
Well i dont have a car but am surround by toxic car fumes every day. Hows that fair?

malmi · 14/06/2018 22:56

It's not! One of the reasons why production of combustion engine cars is being stopped. We can cease production of personal smoking items alongside this, I suppose.

traciebanbanjo · 14/06/2018 22:56

Get a job where people aren't allowed to run their cars in your workplace, like almost all jobs.

My employer has banned smoking everywhere but yet smokers feel it doesn't apply to them.

Selfish fuckers, I bet some think I'm going to die young I might as well make unlucky people near me die young too.

Yes, a few whiffs off smoke from someone outside will take 20 years off your life i’m sure. My god, how did anyone get to be 80 or 90 when everyone could smoke indoors? People who over exaggerate second hand smoke like this really annoy me.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 14/06/2018 23:03

I think it must be the addiction. Usually law abiding people think nothing of breaking the law for a smoke.

Pandora79 · 14/06/2018 23:04

My employer has banned smoking everywhere but yet smokers feel it doesn't apply to them.

As a non smoker, I would say that's a stupid idea

TheDairyQueen · 14/06/2018 23:05

Ooh, fasten your Tena Lady, it's gonna be a bumpy night!

Goldmonday · 14/06/2018 23:07

What annoys me more is people whinging about cigarette smoke in smoking areas/ pub gardens etc.

Tangled59 · 14/06/2018 23:09

And where do you expect me to live tracie? In some car free vortex in the middle of a field?

Look mate you're just going to have to get over yourself and get on with living life. Or live in some antiseptic bunker somewhere until you can happily die, alone, of natural non environmental causes at the age of 97.

Tangled59 · 14/06/2018 23:10

@TheDairyQueen
Bahahahahahaha

Magratmakethetea · 14/06/2018 23:12

Goldmonday I agree with you, smokers are out in pub gardens all year round. Come the warmer weather they are looked on as the devil incarnate for daring to go where they go all year round - not just summer x

ScreamingValenta · 14/06/2018 23:12

My employer has banned smoking everywhere

Goodness, you have a powerful employer! Grin

RedRedBluee · 14/06/2018 23:13

Selfishness.
Yanbu, second hand smoke gives me migraines even when outside so yeah I think it’s selfish.

LexieLulu · 14/06/2018 23:14

I used to work in a bar when the smoking ban came in.

I had a group of middle age regulars come in and smoke (hiding their ciggies under the table so I would ultimately have to clean their ash up too).

I told them it was not allowed and I wouldn't serve them, they argued with me it was their right and how dare I? I was 18 and they were 50!!!

Some people have no respect for others or laws!

Fluffyears · 14/06/2018 23:14

A bit of consideration helps. I was in s pub garden having food and the woman at the next table got up and went to the other side of the garden away from people dining to smoke. That was nice of her. Her partybthen left and the next guy smoked right next to us as we were still eating, wind blew his smoke right across our table. Can’t say anything as it’s oytsude amdbhes allowed to smoke but he could’ve been considerate. My best friend smokes and always asks people at nearby tables if we are outside if they mind her smoking if they have food. If they do kind she moves away.

SilverySurfer · 14/06/2018 23:21

Why do people speed in their cars? Why do people drink drive? Why do people use their mobiles while driving? Who do people do anything they shouldn't? Why just pick on smokers?

Babynut1 · 14/06/2018 23:25

It’s grips my shit having to dodge their filthy fag butts everywhere.
Their breath is just the worst.
I don’t get it, I seriously done get it.

Less than 20% of the population smoke these days but they’re just everywhere. I despise smoking with a passion. And I just find it absolutely crazy how they can justify wasting so much money on nothing, just puffing away, killing themselves and just smelling fucking minging.

I don’t understand why they want to smoke in front of their kids. It’s a bloody disgusting habit and surely we’re supposed to be setting examples to our children. Why the fuck would you want your kids to take up such a filthy filthy smelly habit.

Smoking is banned in cars with children here, yet one filthy selfish twat of a father rocks up beside me in the parent and child parking the other day. He’s smoking a fag with 3 young children in the car.

Some of them are just damn right selfish.

There should be designated smoking places everywhere. Where it doesn’t bother anyone else. It’s a vile vile habit and I will never ever ever comprehend why anyone would take it up in the first place.

I don't smoke but FFS I'm sick of the preachy, joyless, judgmental nonsense that gets heaped on smokers. I think it's because people LOVE to hate and judge and pillory others but there's almost no acceptable way to do that any more. So smokers get loads of it. Terrible, evil people. Hmm

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/06/2018 23:28

NSFW clip BTW!

Queenoftheblitz · 14/06/2018 23:30

I've smoked around my cats all their lives. Two died of old age, no lung problems, at age 21 and 19.
My current boy is 14 and fit as a fiddle. I bet he makes 20.
I wonder if cats have super strong lungs that protect them from my fags?

m0therofdragons · 14/06/2018 23:43

I work at a hospital and was waiting for a guest to arrive in reception today. A patient came to the receptionist really upset because she has COPD and had had to walk through a cloud of smoke of people smoking at front of the hospital. It's banned on the grounds and that includes the car park across the road but as you reach the front door it's a council owned pathway then a crossing into the hospital. So many smokers stand either side of the crossing on the path where we cannot enforce anything and then drop their cigarette butts as they walk in so we actually pay somebody from nhs money to clear them up twice a day.

If I think about it too much it makes me so mad!

I can only conclude that a large number of smokers are selfish and oblivious to the impact they have on others. Mums smoking while pregnant because it helps their anxiety is a good one - what about the pregnant mums who have to walk through your smoke to get to the maternity hospital? What about their anxiety? Carrying ID twins through a high risk pregnancy I didn't want to inhale any smoke!

pieceofpurplesky · 14/06/2018 23:51

I like a pub garden that has a separate smoking area.
