To think it’s weird to leave your child sleeping in a shop unsupervised?

Went into a shop today and there was no one behind the counter. Thought it was a bit odd but figured they must be in the back room somewhere and it’s a fairly quiet area so it’s unlikely anyone would come in and ransack the place. After browsing for a bit, I realised that there was a toddler (maybe 2?) asleep in a pushchair (that I had previously assumed was for sal) in front of (not behind!) the unmanned counter. I was probably there for a few minutes so I can’t say the child was left alone for any particularly unreasonable amount of time but it did strike me as a very weird thing to do when anyone could walk in off the street!

I'd be more concerned that the toddler would wake up and do a runner than someone taking them. What a strange thing to do.

Maybe they were in the back with a cuppa watching on cctv?

Sounds a bit odd!
