Yesterdays crop off one bush in our garden it’s 4x as much as last year and I’ve not finished picking yet...Smile I’m really not looking forward to top n tailing them all, do I need to do that to cook them for crumbles & make jam? I’m going in search of Elderflower too...

@SkiGirl007 sadly you do need to top and tail. I tend to watch a movie at the same time, to alleviate the boredom.

I planted a hinnonmaki gooseberry bush last year and it's doing very well considering last year's sawfly disaster. How do I know when they are ripe please? I've not had any experience of them since being a small child and trying a single sour berry. I am also growing redcurrants and blackberries if they go well in a recipe together.

They have all been topped n tailed and 1kg made into Elderflower & GB jam this afternoon and the rest ready for crumbles etc Smile
