I think I may win the daily CF prize (if there is one!)

No parking involved sorry. And no diagrams (thought I'd get that out the way straight off).

Today at the supermarket I had a CF behind me in the till. I've put about 6 items on the belt from my full trolley. He plonks a next customer sign down about 2 inches away. So I drew his attention to my full trolley and he moved it back 2 more inches. He then wandered off to get another item and I moved the sign back to the side. By the time he came back I'd filled the entire belt.

The next one takes the biscuit. I don't get on with my NDN. I have had more than 1 thread about it. Their kids used to climb in my garden, the parents don't speak to me ever except to complain if I tell their kids to get out of my garden. So we're not best mates. In fact we don't even say hello to each other. Mrs NDN also said something v rude about me.

Anyway tonight 2 of NDNs kids come knocking at my door ' dad said can we lend your metal bin as we're burning some wood?'

It was literally a WTAF moment.

I said no of course.

I can't believe the cheek. Why on earth would I want to lend him that? Especially when he can't even come and ask himself!!!

I’ve met cheekier tbh.

VelvetSpoon · 09/06/2018 20:22

Fair enough! Honestly I am still astonished by my NDN. He clearly can't think he's my mate because he doesn't speak to me. But maybe he thinks irrespective of that fact I should help him out? Even though needless to say he's never helped me once Hmm

Yeah, I wouldn't call that prize worthy cheeky fuckery tbh. The supermarket one was definitely weird though.

BellyDancer124 · 09/06/2018 20:28

Yabu that was a massive anti climax

SharronNeedles · 09/06/2018 20:30

I had someone literally close a door on me and my DS (in pram) today. Was trying (and failing) to get through a large pull door, a woman came past, went through the door and pulled it closed behind her leaving me still on the other side...

People are weird!

Tiredtomybones · 09/06/2018 20:31

Both cf IMO.

Shumpalumpa · 09/06/2018 20:36

OP, i enjoy all CF stories, so you get my prize.

Do these things happen to men?! I feel like CFs target women.

Bibesia · 09/06/2018 20:38

I think the CF SiL who expects her SIL to use her maternity leave to provide child care for her probably wins the prize.

StealthPolarBear · 09/06/2018 20:38

I think cfs are completely oblivious tbh.

Cheby · 09/06/2018 20:48

Definite CFs, but come on OP, they are no Mexican house thieves.

StaplesCorner · 09/06/2018 20:49

Bibesia I bet there ARE cheekier fuckers out there somewhere ...

Tangofandango · 09/06/2018 20:49

Last week I was staying overnight at an airport hotel. My room key wouldn't work so I went down to reception. Someone was checking in so I stood back a few feet to give her privacy. A woman walked in between me and the one checking in, looked at me and smiled, then stood to one side. As the first woman moved away from the desk, second woman jumped in front of me, smiled again and said "I won't be long, I just want to sort out some food". I pushed past her and said "I won't be long, I just want to sort out my key".

She look at me like Confused and said "Huh".

What is wrong with some people?

theymademejoin · 09/06/2018 20:50

dad said can we lend your metal bin as we're burning some wood?'

You should have corrected their grammar for them and then we'd have had a post from your neighbour complaining about his cf neighbour who wouldn't let him borrow the bin because his poor children don't "speak proper"

gamerchick · 09/06/2018 20:50

The trolly ones easy. Line the handle of the trolly at the edge of the checkout. Nobody can get near the belt then until you move it.

theymademejoin · 09/06/2018 20:55

@gamerchick - the only time I didn't do that, I had someone start piling their stuff onto the belt. Previously, I had thought it was only on mumsnet that things like that happened.

Because I've read enough threads about this, I knew to say "Excuse me. I am not finished.". I only wish I'd thought to just stop unpacking and then hand the remaining items to the cashier, one at a time, which would have taken at least twice as long as I would have to wait until everything had gone through the toll to start packing.

chinesechicken · 09/06/2018 20:56

Well that was anti climatic.

VelvetSpoon · 09/06/2018 21:39

Sorry! I am obviously guilty of hyperbole. In my excitement at having 2 CF encounters in one day I have, like a politician, overpromised and under delivered.

Still astonished by my NDN. That you would send your kids (who don't speak to me either) to ask for my bin...!

I haven't seen the SIL thread but I'll accept it sounds a far worse case of CFery than mine.

Serin · 09/06/2018 21:44

DD has recently got a part time job in a bar, new boss told her after her first day that he wanted her to work 3 nights a week for a month on an unpaid "trial" and asked in all seriousness if she had any friends who would also be interested?
That's CF'ery OP!!

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 09/06/2018 21:45

Both a bit cheeky but not prizeworthy. Go and read the thread about the friend who reviewed her weekend stay with the OP, it's a belter!

MrsCrabbyTree · 10/06/2018 02:36

TBH, it is special to have two acts of CFedness committed against you in one day. Grin

MrsDilber · 10/06/2018 03:36

Your neighbours remind me of the ones in The Middle. A bit of a crap cf story tbh. Come on, you need to up your game and meet some total CFers.

AnalUnicorn · 10/06/2018 06:34

Perhaps if you had got home and found the guy from the supermarket parked on your drive, and he then tried to wander off with your metal bin to burn his stuff in because your NDN had told him you “wouldn’t mind”. Maybe then you might win.
