Terrified of filo - can you help me with my borek?

I'm making borek for a picnic tomorrow but I'm scared of filo pastry!

The contents is good to go just need to put it in the filo and fry. BUt, it's for a picnic tomorrow. Should I:

  1. Cook them now and refrigerate
  2. Make them worth the filo and refrigerate overnight and cook in the morning
  3. Not do anything else until tomorrow? I.e. don't even make them up?

Help! Trying to expand the food we eat as a family!!

Bake, not fry. Option 1

You can cook them now and they'll be fine tomorrow. I oven bake them rather than fry. Brush each layer with melted butter and then brush again before baking. Yum!

Any idea on temperature for a fan oven and timing? I really don't want to ruin them!

10-12 mins at 180 if I remember correctly! Keep an eye on them though.

When you're working with the filo don't let it dry out. I cover with a very very slightly damp tea towel.

Thank you everyone - you're amazing! I could have asked on Facebook but I think my friends would have no idea what I'm on about and also, I'm working from home and NOT meant to be prepping my picnic.

I've finished all my work though in my defense!
