Dc is coming up 12 months now, and still no sign of my periods returning. I don't think it took this long with my other dc.

When did you all get your periods back of you were still breastfeeding?

Technically not at all with first as had implant at 8 weeks.

With 2nd around 16 months (only just stopped BFing her last month at 2.2. Around the time it was only night/first thing feeds and not during the day anymore.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 08/06/2018 12:17

DC1 periods returned 5 months pp while exclusively bfing, DC2 periods returned 3 months pp while exclusively bfing

Mother Nature is not kind to me!

Still breastfeeding my DS who is now 17 months old. No period yet but I’ve had what I suspect to be ovulation pain for the last four months.

Aaaalltheboys · 08/06/2018 13:11

15 months xx

Glassofredandapackofcrisps · 08/06/2018 13:15

6 months and she fed round the clock! She still feeds through the night at 26 months and they're as regular as clockwork!

Cornettoninja · 08/06/2018 13:20

Mine came back pretty much bang on 12 months. Still feeding overnight and had gone back to work around 9 months.

There's such a massive variation though.

Mousefunky · 08/06/2018 13:22

I stopped bfing mine at 13 months and it came back within two months. I loved bfing for that.

Fivelittleduckies · 08/06/2018 13:24

My first it came back around 7 months, with my second it was closer to 18 months and third time it’s been just after 12 months

JuneFromBethesda · 08/06/2018 13:29

Around 22 months each time (2 children). It was lovely Grin

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 08/06/2018 13:38

2/3 months after giving birth both times even though they were both breastfed (exclusively for over a year) Angry

BlackRibboner · 08/06/2018 14:08

No period between pregnancies, but conceived when DC1 was 11 months (and still feeding at night). No sign yet of a period or pregnancy 8 months pp.

user1471433387 · 08/06/2018 14:31

Within 2 months despite breastfeeding exclusively and on demand. Not long after I stopped bleeding! DD was sleeping for about 6 hours at night though, might have even slept for longer.

I think my periods weren't always regular. I thought I was having unprotected sex at a time when I had finished ovulating (day 22 in my cycle) but I ended up getting pregnant. Maybe this was due to breastfeeding.

NoirBlanc · 08/06/2018 15:00

11 weeks - whilst I was still exclusively BF on demand.

It was a bit of a pain as once a month my supply went down, so I maintained an oversupply with the help of a pump. Introduced DS to solids at 6.5/7 months, and cow's milk at 12 months and stopped BF at 14 months.

NoirBlanc · 08/06/2018 15:01

I remember putting it down to the fact that DS managed to sleep for 10 hours straight (for two nights and then back to more frequent waking).

Popsicle434544 · 08/06/2018 15:11

Breast fed all mine for 2-3 years and didnt get period till after finished around 2 months after stopping , it was great 😊x

anametouse · 08/06/2018 15:16

12 weeks after he was born. I'm still BF him now and he's 18 months.

AhoyDelBoy · 08/06/2018 16:17

Thanks to PPs who answered my question, that makes sense! Smile

Mirrorwriting · 08/06/2018 16:46

Mine bloody never stopped Angry
Exclusively breastfeeding. Wore the maternity pad after delivery. Had a 2 week break then normal service resumed. I was very annoyed.

Mirrorwriting · 08/06/2018 16:51

Gunpowder

I did all that but I would have ended up pregnant as my period kicked in only a few weeks after delivering. I had assumed it would be three months minimum before it came back.

PrettyWisdomous · 08/06/2018 16:55

DS is 5 months and has been combination fed since 4 weeks, with FF increasing so that over the last couple of weeks we're only BF overnight and first thing, so maybe 3 feeds a day. No sign of AF yet.

eeanne · 08/06/2018 17:06

14 months for DC1, when I stopped expressing at work.

DC2 is 6 months old and no period yet.

SayNoToCarrots · 08/06/2018 17:14

Exclusively breastfed on demand day and night with both of my children. 4-6 weeks after giving birth, so still feeding at least every three hours, and regular as clockwork after that.

LokiBear · 08/06/2018 17:17

Mine returned whilst exclusively feeding about 6 weeks after the post-birth bleeding stopped. It massively affected my supply and made feeding a struggle.

mirime · 08/06/2018 17:41

8 or 9 months - about a month to six weeks after I returned to work and started expressing.

AhoyDelBoy · 09/06/2018 01:43

Thank you all!
