Dc is coming up 12 months now, and still no sign of my periods returning. I don't think it took this long with my other dc.

When did you all get your periods back of you were still breastfeeding?

kaytee87 · 08/06/2018 10:25

About a month after I stopped expressing so 4 months pp.

BertieBotts · 08/06/2018 10:27

18 months for me. It's a great perk of cosleeping and still doing night feeds!

sleepylittlebunnies · 08/06/2018 10:28

I didn’t have a period between DC1 and DC2, 2.2 year age gap. I suppose it would have been 18 months but obviously the first ovulation I became pregnant. BF DC1 until around 21 months.

Had 1 period between DC2 and becoming pregnant with DC3 when DC2 was 21 months. BF DC2 till about 23 months.

Periods came back when DC3 had just turned 2 and she stopped BF a couple of months later. All 3 were only really having a BF before bed from about 18 months. And with all 3 there was no sign that my periods were returning, each time they just started.

My periods changed not long after this from 5 days to 2 days.

Irritatingly bloody early. I’m still ebf my ten month old daughter, and I think they reared their ugly bloody hydra heads, heavy as ever, at about three or four months. Livid, I was.

MetalMidget · 08/06/2018 10:29

About 14 or 15 months - I was still breastfeeding, but it was starting to tail off, only once or twice a day.

mindutopia · 08/06/2018 10:30

3 months despite exclusively bf (he’s never even so much as had a bottle of expressed milk). I really thought I’d have so much more time. I suspect it has to do with when they start going longer stretches at night. Ds is one of those mythical babies I never really believed existed who sleeps well (slept through pretty much every night from 10 weeks, can’t complain, I’ll take the periods in exchange for sleep). I think that’s unusually early though.

Drchinnery · 08/06/2018 10:34

I must be extremely unlucky, mines just returned after only 5 weeks!

daimbars · 08/06/2018 10:37

AF came back 6 weeks after DD's last breastfeed

LotusInspired · 08/06/2018 10:42

Exactly 28 days after I gave birth to my DD and I was exclusively breastfeeding for 3 months straight.

2014mum · 08/06/2018 10:44

10 weeks and he fed every hour and co slept on my boob Sad but my friends came back 6 months after stopping (12 months post baby)

SpectacularAardvark · 08/06/2018 10:48

Lucky you! Mine came back 6 weeks after birth, if barely stopped bleeding from that and was furious. Still breastfeeding 2 years later and they are regular every month. Angry

NeverLovedElvis · 08/06/2018 10:49

DC1- 18 months
DC2- 6 weeks
Both breastfed until 2 years old.

Eatmycheese · 08/06/2018 10:50

Six months with DS1 but breastfeed until 15 months

12 months with DD conceived DS2 the same month my period returned
DS 2 now 7 months and no sign of it although I’m still nursing DD too

EekThreek · 08/06/2018 10:51

First time was 2 weeks after she started having two feeds a day when she turned 1.

Second time was about 6 weeks after stopping completely at 10mo. So just before his 1st birthday.

This time I thought I had one at 4 weeks (mix fed to start with) but in hindsight I think it was just a temporary rush of lochia as I hadn't completely stopped bleeding yet. And I haven't had another one yet and she's 4mo.

Bi11yOneMate · 08/06/2018 10:52

15 months for dc1, then tandem fed with dc2 - periods returned at 16 months still tandem feeding.
Still waiting this time and dc3 is 20 months. But he feeds loads at night still.

Jupiter15 · 08/06/2018 10:54

21.5 months (fed to 27 months)

NordicNobody · 08/06/2018 10:56

Around 9 months, cosleeping and feeding on demand/ doing night feeds.

Troika · 08/06/2018 10:58

At 10 weeks with dc 3. She was breastfed til 18 months and most definitely did not sleep at night too.

fuzzywuzzy · 08/06/2018 10:58

Mine came back after three months but they were erratic.

shirleyschmidt · 08/06/2018 10:59

For the last 3 weeks I've been combi feeding (formula in the day and just BF at night) and have just had my first🤦🏼‍♀️

Crunchymum · 08/06/2018 10:59

Period at 18 months post partum but fed until 'baby' was 2y 8m

Currently expressing for my tube fed baby and no period yet (4.5m post partum)

Lavende · 08/06/2018 11:05

My periods came back 6 weeks PP. I was still breastfeeding at 16 months.

Homemadearmy · 08/06/2018 11:09

Mine returned with 6 weeks every time, with dd1 they returned in 2 weeks as I’d had 2 by my 6 week check

Hideandgo · 08/06/2018 11:11

Once baby starts going 8 hrs between feeds. Triggers ovulation.

WildCherryBlossom · 08/06/2018 11:14

I breastfed each for a year until they were down to just one feed in 24 hours. Periods only returned one month after I completely stopped feeding.
