Ours is loo roll.
Omg. We go through one a day! I swear dp and ds eat it lol
Bearing in mind dp at work till six. DS at school till 3. I'm generally out most days with family and friends with the baby or groups.
I know certainly I don't use loads lol

The other thing washing powder! That's down to me tho and my excessive need to wash everything all the time..

Bananas and ham......... first one is the dcs fault, second one is me!

BillywilliamV · 08/06/2018 06:12

Broccoli, at least every second day.

Me "What do we call a meal without broccoli"
DC "Breakfast!"

ToffeePennie · 08/06/2018 07:03

Toilet roll we have 3 toilets though - 1 per floor, but I still can’t work out where it goes.
Squash
Milk
Biscuits but then the 4 year old and 7 month old both have one before bed, so that’s sort of explainable.

furandchandeliers · 08/06/2018 07:24

@NorthEndGal what gorgeous catsGrin

Notso · 08/06/2018 07:25

Shower gel, my bulk buy of massive ones from Bodyshop has run out and now we're back on the small ones, we go through two a week! It really annoys me.

Pastrami, I don't know any other kids who eat it but mine can't get enough of it.

NorthEndGal · 08/06/2018 08:18

furandchandeliers thank you, i think they are lovey too, when not sportingvan attitude, haha!

Not sporting an attitude*

I have accepted that no matter what quantity of biscuits i purchase they are consumed by DH immediately upon discovery. Yesterday i bought a double pack of bourbons with the hope of offering one or 2 to the gardener in the afternoon. But by 2pm they were all eaten. Angry

I don't replace them straight away tho. If he can't ration himself, then he can wait a week till i buy more.

We also have discussions regarding the amount of toilet paper used. 1-2 rolls if he's home for the day. And of course the toilet is always blocked from the amount put down there. After seeing him blow his nose i can why. Confused

yumscrumfatbum · 08/06/2018 09:21

Kitchen roll we go through reams of the stuff! Crisps, I have taken to allocating each family member a set number of packets a week! This evens out flavours too. Some greedy bugger eats all the best ones otherwise!

MrsKoala · 08/06/2018 09:27

Oh god . Kitchen roll. I've stopped buying it because dh would use it for everything. 4 sheets to dry a glass. A small spill of water on the edge of the sink, 6 sheets. After going thru a whole packet of 4 in 2 days i said no more. He copes with tea towels just fine without it.

ChanklyBore · 08/06/2018 09:32

“Flour. I go through several kilos every week.

WHAT?!?”

I go through several kilos every week. Plenty of people here are saying the same thing only they are saying bread.

Last shop contained strong bread flour, two bags of plain and a bag of SR - they are usually in 2.5 or 1.5kg bags there was also 500g of 00 flour and a box of corn flour. By the time you’ve counted how much goes into bread, pastry, cakes, Yorkshire puddings, pancakes, sauces, batters and general day to day baking/cooking, we go through several kilos every week.

blaabloodyblaa · 08/06/2018 09:40

My mum - bleach! She uses it for everything. Tried to make me use it a lot but it's bad for pets so I don't apart from bathrooms.
Me - electricity! It must be the thousands of pc's, laptops, consoles, every Apple product invented and loads of handheld devices we each have.

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 08/06/2018 09:42

Yes, we go through a lot of flour too. Number One Son wants to be a baker and he does a lot of baking at home. I encourage this- he makes lovely bread and delicious profiteroles! Then my husband makes a lot of pizzas, curry pies etc.
I don't really notice how much we use though, because I buy by the sack, or at least in bulk packs of 10 bags.

Sevendown · 08/06/2018 09:43

Satsumas and apples, multiple bags of each per week.

Toilet roll one per day

Shampoo and conditioner

Ketchup

Ice cream

Ribena never lasted a week (don’t buy it anymore though since the change)

AnneProtheroe · 08/06/2018 09:55

Tea bags. I swear I chain-drink tea, as I finish one cup I'm boiling the kettle for my next one.

Peanuts and crisps, my OH will hoover up as soon as he knows we have them so we try not to buy them because he has no self control.

puglife15 · 08/06/2018 11:35

Does anyone else find this thread scary and depressing?

So much consumption, a lot of it really wasteful and unecessary.

A gallon of bleach to clean some glass?

Several rolls of kitchen roll a week (bet it's not even recycled)?

Fabric conditioner, and whatever the fuck wax melts are,. Basically pointless stuff that makes your house or clothes smell weirdly artificial?

And BOTTLED FUCKING WATER?????

puglife15 · 08/06/2018 11:37

How are people getting through a bottle of bleach a day?????????????!!

What the fuck are you doing with it, do you kill people for a living?

NorthEndGal · 08/06/2018 12:08

Puglife as wonderful and clean as the ocean seems , it's not.
Beach glass and pottery are oftened stained, have algae that will smell in it, and may well have contaminate on them.
I have to handle the glass hundreds of times, I don't want to get sick.
I also need to see the actual colour of the glass.
I do at least 3 tubs of glass a week, and each tub uses about a third of a jug

bsbabas · 08/06/2018 12:53

I've given up buying ham and salami it disappears and loo roll just loads of it

dementedma · 08/06/2018 14:09

agree with puglife a bottle of bleach a day is insane.

UpstartCrow · 08/06/2018 14:14

@NorthEndGal
Did you know there's an environmentally friendly bleach alternative? Its powdered laundry bleach, you can buy it in tubs from most pound stores.
You would need to use hand warm water and soak up to 24 hours to get the same effect.

ferrier · 08/06/2018 14:30

Milk - 42 pints a week
Butter
Bubble bath & shower gel
Probably washing powder too compared to everyone else but I buy it in enormous boxes so don't really notice.

I don't understand how people get through 16 loo rolls a week ...

SweetCheeks1980 · 08/06/2018 14:33

Cat food - 48 tins a week.

ferrier · 08/06/2018 14:35

I have the same approach as pp to things like biscuits and ice creams. I buy one day. They're all gone by the next day regardless of how many I've bought. Then no more are bought until the following week. They still don't ration them Hmm

Semster · 08/06/2018 14:38

I have a dog and have never bleached my floors. They're wood, so I don't think I even could - wouldn't it damage them?
