I was a Smiths fan. I was a Morrissey fan. I loved the music and the lyrics. Then he got a bit ‘embarrassing Uncle with questionable views but who you still feel an affection for’ in the 90’s. But now he’s just a racist twunt. See here AIBU to wonder who buys his records these days? Surely nearly all his original fan base will have had enough by now? Do any mumsnetters still listen to him?

I love his music, and The Smiths will always be legendary and go down in history as a great band, he can never tarnish that part.

But he has always been an contrian insufferable prick, it's riddled in the lyrics of his music dating back to the Smiths.

But when he ripped into Thatcher, Reagan, Bush, Trump and Cameron and backed the likes of Corbyn and Clinton he was lauded as being nuanced in political thinking.
