28DD non-wired bras that don’t break the bank??

I’ve just measured 12 yr old DD using the boob or bust method and she is measuring at 28DD.

Where can I find some for a reasonable price? I’ve looked at Bra Stop and can find some nice pretty ones for her on there but she needs plain white or nude ones to wear under her school shirt. I’ve found a plain white tshirt bra on John Lewis but that’s £18 and I was hoping to spend much less. I don’t want to spend a fortune on bras when she is still growing but also want her to be comfortable and in a proper fitting bra every day. Help!!!

(Not an AIBU I’m aware but posting for traffic!)

I'm a 30FF. £18 is quite reasonable for small back/large cups unfortunately.

I usually buy bras in the sales (I just grab whatever Freya bras are reduced in my size as soon as they are reduced, as I love their bras - most of mine have been £10-15 in the sales, usually from Debenhams). eBay sometimes turns up bargains too.

I've heard good things about Curvy Kate but not actually bought from there.

Asda do some really comfy bras without underwire.

I'm heavy busted and the underwire is agony for me. Asda sorted out my bra issue.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 05/06/2018 21:15

I have a few of these

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/06/2018 21:17

TBH I have to agree - you're unlikely to find those kind of sizes for much less. Non wired will also be a relatively limited selection but John Lewis are normally a good option.

Foodylicious · 05/06/2018 21:20

M and s Angel range two for £16 I think?

Cecily75 · 05/06/2018 21:21

My DD also measured 28DD but she was fine in some John Lewis non-wired 30C bras. Recently I found some non-wired ones in Primark for £5 in a size S, DD says they're comfortable. They have adjustable shoulder straps and look a bit fancier than a crop top.

LaurieMarlow · 05/06/2018 21:22

Unfortunately these kind of sizes aren't cheap. I'm a 32 DD/E and I second the Debenhams sale as the best place for value. I've never found a 'cheap' brand that does the job.

ShowOfHands · 05/06/2018 21:24

I wear 28DD and agree that £18 isn't a bad price. I got a couple for £12.99 in TKMaxx a while ago but it's not an easy back measurement to shop for.

ShowOfHands · 05/06/2018 21:24

Try a 30D too. I have a couple and they're not bad.

Foodylicious · 05/06/2018 21:25

Just checked and they don't do 28 in a d cup sadly.
Sorry

TheOriginalEmu · 05/06/2018 21:25

boux avenue. my daughter is a 28F and its a total pain in the arse finding bras for her.

Bodicea · 05/06/2018 21:27

At that size you really shouldn’t be spending less than about £30 (full price - £15-£20 on sale).
The best and most accessible brands are panache and Freya.
Most people fit one brand better depending on their shape - it’s trial and error.

madja · 05/06/2018 21:29

The problem is the 28 bit. That's my mum's size and she really struggles. I was going to suggest bra stop, but you've tried that. Most high street places start at a 32.

madja · 05/06/2018 21:30

Debenhams have a good size selection of smaller sizes, but probably pretty pricey too.

Neolara · 05/06/2018 21:32

Good luck! Having searched high and low, I ended up having to go to Bravissimo - £70 later for 2 teen bras......

WyldDucks · 05/06/2018 21:33

Have a look on eBay, I've got some new 28DD bras from outlet places, I think I had some discontinued John Lewis ones which doesn't help you really but worth a look if you want cheap.

Leatherboundanddown · 05/06/2018 21:33

Look on lingerieoutletstore site and figleaves outlet. Or ebay/amazon for past season Panache/Freya/Fantasie.

I wear 30D and I get such bargains via these places.

Cobee · 05/06/2018 21:43

Thanks all. I’m aware £18 is a good price for a bra of that size and if she was done growing I would snap a load of them up for that price (I usually pay around £35-40 for mine so aware of just how much bras cost).
Coincidentally, the £18 is for a 30D which we may end up having to go with as the cheapest plain white or nude I can find in a 28DD is £30.

Thanks leather for the suggestions, I’ll take a look.
eBay is somewhere I hadn’t thought of looking too.
