The funniest/stupidest mistake you’ve made

I’m bored and tired. I need entertaining.

AIBU to ask what the funniest or most stupid mistake you’ve made is?

I think the stupidest thing I’ve done was jokingly telling my DD when she was about 7 that the glass sliding door to the garden was open when she asked me. From my position it was clearly shut but I didn’t realise DD was dazzled by the sunlight. She didn’t pick up on my sarcasm, tried to run through the glass door and ended up going to A&E to check she had no head injury Blush years later we laugh about it Grin but at the time I was mortified! I’ve never really used sarcasm since

When I was six on holiday at the swimming pool, I took my armbands off my arms, put them on each leg and jumped into the swimming pool Shock Luckily I had shouted “Dad, look at me” just before I jumped in. I just remember choking and drowning and not being able to do anything about it before he lifted me up and out of the water by my leg Blush

A little boy o knew had a toy gun that fired suckers that stuck on the wall. I wanted to know how it worked, so I put my eye on the end of the barrel and fired it....
Somehow I didn't do any real damage, but even at the time I realised immediately that I'd been very stupid!

Thinking that a dish sponge would be suitable for washing my car

MissionItsPossible - I did the exact same thing. I immediately realised my mistake and panicked and somehow managed to right myself. So dumb. I was about 8 I think. It was in a public pool so guess a lifeguard would've saved me but still.

I thought my front teeth were uneven in length so took a nail file to them aged 7 or so. Thats fun as an adult but it is bloody ridiculous I have to laugh at myself.

I am visually impaired, and have made several quite funny mistakes. Sometimes, I will think I am selecting one object, when really I’m selecting something totally different. I was in Greece, and grabbed what I thought was yogurt with muesli and it turned out to be yogurt with pepper flavor with some biscuits

I also bought something called cucumber washing up liquid, I thought it was for plates. I’m still not sure it’s what it’s actually uses, but I don’t think it’s for plates. Ha ha ha I think it’s like a face wash or something.

I also take things very literally, and my mother once told me to put the magazines in the toilet, so I did.
