To miss the pre baby version of me

Feel like I’ve lost my sense of self and don’t have much fun anymore. My partner is away mon-fri and I moved away from london (where my friends still are) to be able afford the space we needed for our baby. I’m 24 and the first of my friends to have a baby. I completely love my daughter and she’s the best thing that’s happened to me but some days I wish I could just have a day or two back with no responsabilities and just go out and have fun with my friends. Anyone feel the same?

YANBU. It’s really relentless having a baby and you do lose part of yourself for a while. As they get older, you get your freedom back a bit, but it is weird to suddenly have to be so responsible! It must be tough if you’re on your own all week.

Try to get some time for yourself and do the things you loved pre-baby. See if your partner will have her for the weekend so you can go to London and see your friends.

Yanbu. I was you 10 years ago. I promise it gets easier. Keep in touch with your mates and when you and baby are ready to have a night apart, get a date in the diary to be the old you again.
