When is it too late to be making noise on a Sunday?

It's 8:30. It's not 'late' I know, but an awful neighbour is playing loud music the whole street can probably hear it. I'm finding it annoying as I'm trying to relax, and I'm sure people with young kids must be irritated.

AIBU to think they should stop now?

Nobody need to play music so loud that others need to hear it. Totally unreasonable. Surely they can wear personal headphones and blast it into their own brain?

Dunno but after starting in the garden at 10pm last night ndn has just started again at 8:55 tonight. Dd1 struggling with the stuffiness to sleep so this really won't help.

There is no right time to play music so loud, what a selfish neighbour you have.

After 11:00 pm they should be silent. It is annoying though, having to listen to someone else's terrible tunes.

Think the law states no noise at all after 11:30pm (could be wrong in the sense of it being a “law” but it’s this time I’ve seen a few times).

I would have thought a considerate neighbour would have all noise making activities done with by about 7-8pm.

Although saying that, just because 11:30 is the cut off point, I don’t think that means people are free to make as much racket as they like before then, any noise that causes a nuisance could get them in trouble I think.

The laws on this tend to be local bylaws so your local council website will have the info.

Mine is crap and simply requires silence pretty much from 2300-0700 but some have laws of quieter noise in late evening and early morning/weekends.

All that said it's VERY hard to get anything done re noisy neighbours (which is a disgrace) in this country.
