Live in a block of three flats that has a courtyard carpark surrounded by other flats (all no higher than three).
There is a main gated entrance and each block has it's own fire door entrance, which has no lock or buzzing in panel, so basically you need a key fob to get through the gate, then the main door to each block in just a push door.

This morning the buzzer went off at 1am. We answered, nobody replied, looked out at the gate to see a car slowly reversing out of the gate turning, then proceeded to park up, blocking the gate for a while before driving off. Fine, assumed it was a taxi that had got the wrong address. Annoying but not unheard of.

Then the security light kept coming on in our hall - I knew the upstairs neighbours were away and the downstairs are elderly so unlikely to be them going in and out. Didn't want to go out and investigate but there was no sounds of people unlocking doors/going into property, just the main door closing quietly.

The buzzer went off again - again no reply, this time didn't seem to be anyone there. Now 2.30am.

Security light comes on again in the hall - it's not particularly sensitive as sometimes takes a while to come on when I'm out there - and when I looked out into the courtyard there are now two men just standing in the courtyard looking around. They didn't see me looking and left pretty soon after then everything went quiet.

I have logged it with the non emergency police but I am really really unsettled now! I couldn't sleep at all last night even though there's probably perfectly good explanations.

I've been reading too much crime fiction haven't I?!

Once when staying at my grandparents there was a brief power cut in the night, when the power came back it set the doorbell off. Scared the life out of me. Could something similar have happend (hopeful)?

Although that doesn't explain the car

Maybe it was just a series of weird coincidences!
