AIBU to wonder what is going on with my periods?

Last period started 31 days ago. My average cycle is 26 days so I'm now 5 days late. I use an app to track them and they sometimes vary by a day or two (longest ever cycle has been 28 days and that was only once), shortest 25 but usually 26.

I did have some very light bleeding on day 13 which went on for about three days but not a period and have been on and off feeling generally wierd since. Had bad cramps 4 days ago but no period then 2 days ago felt teary and thought PMT but still nothing.

Pregnant?

Sarahplane · 03/06/2018 03:08

I felt like I was but tested 4 or 5 days ago and it was negative. Not feeling sick and had very bad sickness both times. worth getting another test?

Test again!

PCOS? Worth being checked

Aquamarine1029 · 03/06/2018 04:34

Test again, but as we get older, our hormone balances change and our periods change as a result. I wouldn't worry too much, but it may be a good idea to have your thyroid levels checked.

Sarahplane · 03/06/2018 11:17

I have a very under active (non functioning) thyroid already but this is well medicated with a very high dose.

I'll get a test this afternoon. sorry to drip feed and not sure if it's connected but I've also had this on going feeling like I'm about 7 months pregnant for ages.

Get your thyroid rechecked. And if it continues get gynaecological screening.

Sarahplane · 04/06/2018 18:25

Tested again, still negative. Still no period. Thyroid was tested 8 weeks ago and levels were perfect. I'm on 300 mcg a day so already on a very high dose. I've booked a doctor's appointment but it's not until the 21st.

Don't panic! But do tell your GP symptoms even if they've resolved by then.
It's probably nothing much - but sounds worth checking out.

Sarahplane · 04/06/2018 19:50

thanks. I will do
