If so, when making online purchases, which option should they select? Visa debit? (card says Visa prepaid)

Mine has one and she just used visa debit option.

Ahh, whilst we are discussing these, does anyone know if friends or family can make a direct payment for birthdays etc? Or does it have to go through the parent account?

I haven done it myself but I seem to remember when opening it that others could pay in to it as I mentioned to my parents that he money they always give her (through choice, no obligation to!!!) could go to card but they though coins etc was a good way to learn about handling money too!!

Irrc when my mom put money on for a birthday it went onto the parent account first.
