So for the first time since becoming a mum I have 24 hours to myself next weekend.

DH and the kids will be off to his sisters.

I have a rehearsal in the morning from 9-12 then a performance in the evening from 5.30-7.
I have the hours inbetween, the hours after then some of the next day.

Obviously I will have a lie in.

But ummmm... I am completely stuck on what to do with myself!

It's pathetic I know.

What would you do/what have you done?

I don't want to waste it on housework. Any ideas.

What would be your fantasy day?

The world is my oyster people and I am clueless... Don't let me waste it away in bed!
I might try and find a sauna and have a swim.
Do a bit of quiet allotmenting with no one bugging me for anything!

Haircut

Swim

Buy a pack of fancy cookies and eat them all

Long bath with face mask

Indulgent clothes shopping

ProudThrilledHappy · 01/06/2018 12:16

I would go and eat out wherever I wanted, because ds is fussy about spicy or exotic food and also I spend most of the time we are eating dealing with him messing about.

I’d also have a few glasses of wine (assuming no driving) gasp in the daytime GrinHalo

I’d also sit out in the garden with a book if there was enough time

VogueVVague · 01/06/2018 12:17

Binge watch some series whilst eating cookie dough

Order pizza in the evening

Long bath with music, do nails

juliej00ls · 01/06/2018 12:17

Nothing.... enjoy the quiet. When you are tempted to move return to the doing nothing position

Ninchninch · 01/06/2018 12:22

Oh yes a long bath. With LOUD music! I will most definitely be on Netflix at some point.
A takeaway of my choice would be great too.
I will have DHs van as he will take the car. So I can go out. But it so tempting to just flop around!

Is there something you want to see like an museum exhibition or cinema film that you struggle to find time to do because of the DC?

Is there a café or restaurant you want to try but isn't family friendly?

Have a pedicure and read trashy magazines?

baxterboi · 01/06/2018 12:25

Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

Ninchninch · 01/06/2018 12:30

@ChazsBrilliantAttitude

There is a new deli/cafe open in the neatest town to where we live. Completely unsuitable for 3 young DCs. That would be lovely. Take a book and just appreciate the non fuss of alone adult life.

That sounds like my idea of heaven.

ScarlettDarling · 01/06/2018 12:38

Do nothing! Just appreciate the peace! Just think...no whining, arguing, yelling. No one shouting 'Mummy!' when you dare to do something as selfish as going to the loo. No meals to make! Either do takeaway or survive on gorgeous bread, cheese, olives...yum! Watch rubbish television. Eat soooo much chocolate with copious amounts of coffee that you manage to drink whilst still hot. Enjoy!

Ninchninch · 01/06/2018 12:42

We have also blagged ourselves a free babysitter for the first night so me and DH can go to a music festival... I am not going to know myself.
I will most likely be hungover so a slopping around day would probably be best. I also have to be slightly turned out well and with it to get through this performance!
Well ladies, you have all inspired me to do Sweet FA!

Sounds wonderful. Sweet FA is a lovely way to spend your time. Enjoy! 😁

KitKat1985 · 01/06/2018 12:57

I like to go out for lunch and go to a café where I can eat in peace! Then do a bit of shopping (or window shopping if I've got no money). Then go home and read in peace! Enjoy!
