To be really fucking fuming that I can’t go to bed with my window open because of the dickheads smoking weed downstairs?

It’s currently a very uncool 28° in our flat (admittedly this is a vast improvement on the 34° it was when we first got home. DH have just gone to bed and opened the bedroom window to try and cool the room down, and thanks to the people downstairs smoking weed on their balcony our bedroom now fucking stinks of the stuff. We’ve tried speaking to them about it before but they just don’t give a shit. So now we’re both lying in bed sweaty and pissed off.

Help me plot revenge Mumsnet.

Don’t you miss the days prior to indoor plumbing, when everyone had a chamber pot they could just hurl out the window???

Eat beans and start farting next to the window ??

Play chas n dave loudly and leave it on repeat (this works best when you have gone out!)

Get a fan. I don’t want my window open in case it’s noisy outside (one inconsiderate neighbour who is-thank god-rarely home) It’ll be much more efficient than opening a window. You need airflow.

We have a little fan on the go but it isn’t very powerful. The bigger one rattles like crazy so it’s too loud to have on when we’re trying to sleep

Omg are you me? The twat below me does this too and it stinks my whole flat out if my balcony door is open, sadly there isn't much you can do.

On the plus side though, you could take up tap dancing in the room above their bedroom at 7am. Then if they complain you can make a deal! (Mine don't say anything but bang on the ceiling if dd is thudding about) it makes me feel a bit better!

We have the exact same problem, the house below next door smoke weed all day long and we sit in our stuffy house with the windows shut or have the whole place smelling like a cannabis farm

See that little plant on your windowsill? If you don't water it liberally, right now, with nice, cold, preferably fridge water, it's going to die.

The ridiculous thing is, once I was cleaning my balcony and hosing the floor down (which has drainage holes in) and the woman had the gall to come up and ask me to stop! We do hear the bass from their shitawful music quite often as well.

Can’t see them out there now so hopefully they’ve stopped.

Whitelisbon I do feel the sudden urge to take my pot plants onto my balcony to give them a good watering. They look ever so thirsty!

Justilous suggestion of a historic chamber pot is not the most diplomatic way to go but it would certainly cause a reaction. Ive no idea on a sensible suggestion except moving home
