Blasting the radio
Having a barbecue
Hanging their washing out
Kids bouncing a ball/jumping on their trampoline/ splashing in the padding pool
Dogs barking
People doing DIY in the garden
Washing the car
Watering the plants
Whistling
Having loud conversations in the back about their credit score going up (heard this one this morning )
The chink of a bottle dropped in the recycling bin.

The rich tapestry of life. Love summer, love the sounds of summer, neighbours going about their business. Love it all. Makes me feel alive.

I agree op! I bloody love the sounds of summer and Neighbours enjoying themselves. Life is for living and I’m so happy that everyone around me is living there’s to the full

This time last year we as a neighborhood lost a child who died in a horrific totally out of the blue accident. Then unbelievably six months later another family lost a child in a totally different total accident. We have all mourned as a community and are still findin our way to enjoy life. It’s the little things that are bringing joy back

Yes, I sat out today and heard smooth fm and grass cutting, children laughing and splashing in a paddling pool, gentle chat.....then my 2, fighting, screaming, arguing, my angry voice telling them that they will be in if they don't stop....keeping my shit together because I don't want to ruin every ones lovely summer day by screaming like fish wife at them wanting to bash their heads together.

YES!!!! But I always feel like a nuisance to my neighbours in the garden all day music on (not too loud)

Clip clop and voice from the bypass

Everything else. Yep absolutely why we moved from London. Don't want everyone else's summer noise. Hoot of an owl works

Yes generally I love it too, apart from my next door neighbour who likes to play rave music with the volume cranked right up. I'm a childminder and have to bring the children inside so they don't hear the swearing in the songs.

Love it. I love all the sounds of people enjoying life around me. Reminds me of the Regina Spektor song, summer in the city (although for me it’s summer in the village now)!!

Thanks, it’s small steps and I often feel guilty because it’s not my children but I still wake up everyday with a heavy heart. I can’t imagine what those parents are going through. Sorry to bring down the thread OP I am really happy to see that others are enjoying the summer

I agree OP! We live opposite a very busy london park and in summer I love hearing people chat and laugh walking to/from and kids rattling round on bikes, as well as all of the other sounds you listed. Those type of sounds are the backdrop to good weather and long summer evenings for me so have very positive connotations

I do too. I keep reading people on here complaining about the noises of children playing outside and of neighbours' music etc so it's nice to read the other point of view!
