To think that if you want to listen to rave music you should go to a rave and not a quiet family friendly campsite in the Lake District?

I know IANBU I am just tired and need a rant.

I'm convinced I'm cursed as far as camping is concerned. I always go for nice family friendly sites and I almost always end up adjacent to a bunch of pillocks with no thought for others. Currently listening to four lads from the NE playing rave music on their car stereo and swearing loudly. I'm so fed up. Tempted to send the kids to play outside their tent first thing tomorrow morning.

So sorry OP. Haven't been camping for years but I can imagine and I would hate that.

itchyknees · 27/05/2018 00:04

Yanbu. I’d ring the site manager and get them shut up.

Fitzsimmons · 27/05/2018 00:04

I think I need to invest in a caravan.

I did that itchyknees and it lasted about ten minutes! I'll be looking for a refund tomorrow.

Just go and ask them to turn it off! The site will have rules about noise between certain times.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 27/05/2018 00:06

Absolutely send the children out early near them. Did you happen to bring any musical instruments - say, a recorder?

Most campsites have rules about no noise/music after a certain time - is there a supervisor you can contact?

Fitzsimmons · 27/05/2018 00:09

The site manager has been out once already, after I rang. They were quiet for about ten minutes. I don't want to go and talk to them myself as there are four of them and they have been swearing every other word so pretty intimidating. I'm hoping for rain!

Why is it relevant they're from the NE?

HarrietSchulenberg · 27/05/2018 00:22

Kids playing drums on your pots and pans at 7am would be a lovely revenge. As would pegging their tent doors shut shortly beforehand, and knotting all their guy lines together.

IAmGrootToo · 27/05/2018 00:35

Second noise-related thread i've responded to tonight!

I absolutely hate this selfishness from people inflicting their music on others especially at a time when most people want to sleep.

I'd definitely be demanding a refund tomorrow and heading home. Try to take a video of the noise and swearing just now as evidence.

So sorry your trip has been ruined.

BrewDoggy · 27/05/2018 00:40

Yes tell your kids to play near them in the morning. I hate inconsiderate people!

NoNoCharlieRascal · 27/05/2018 00:41

Take out their car battery while they sleep. Ignorant fucks.

Cable tie their zips together

I would actually be hesitant about using the children to make noise if they are sweary and intimidating. Definitely complain in the morning.

I hope the stfu soon.

eggsandchips · 27/05/2018 04:02

I've said this before but there seems to be something about hot weather and people behaving like Neanderthals.....to the point where there's part of me that's relieved when we get our usual crap weather back!

BlueBug45 · 27/05/2018 04:32

Nah the children will be fine.

If they start swearing and threatening children they know they will be kicked off the site immediately, and if they are unlucky will have the police called on them.
