Good quality British food is always going to be my number one.
Followed by Italian and Thai

Oh and anything Persian/Turkish.

Ansumpasty · 26/05/2018 16:06

I love Greek (and all food, tbh) but for me, nothing comes close to good quality British food.
Roast dinner
Steak pie/mash and veg
A proper Cornish, Cornisy pasty
Fish pie
Beef stew with dumplings and beetroot

Troubledwater · 26/05/2018 16:09

Ethiopian 😍

DailyMailFail101 · 26/05/2018 16:09

Indian and spanish

AnaVanda · 26/05/2018 16:11

Greek. I've been on holiday a few times to Greece and the islands and even the cheapest backstreet bars and restaurants do the most delicious fresh food.

mimibunz · 26/05/2018 16:13

Mexican. I must say that I don’t understand the passion for Yorkshire puddings. (I’ll show myself out)

Fontella · 26/05/2018 16:13

Italian all the way.

JellySlice · 26/05/2018 16:13

Hmmmm (or maybe that should be ommmm-nommm Grin) let's see...

Eastern Mediterranean
Thai
Japanese
Persian
Classic British
Portuguese

And need to find spaces for Austrian cakes and Danish Danishes somewhere on that list, too!

Polarbearflavour · 26/05/2018 16:14

Indian
British
American

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 26/05/2018 16:15

Italian & Mexican.

BillywigSting · 26/05/2018 16:16

Persian and Italian, closely followed by proper Mexican (which is nothing like the tex mex most people think of as Mexican)

Ohyesiam · 26/05/2018 16:16

Lebanese and Indian.
I like food where all the tastes are melded together in the cooking and end up so the ‘whole is greater than the sum of the parts’ kind of thing. So not so keen on traditional English cooking where things are cooked separately, like a roast. However a roast potato of a cold winters day is a very fine thing.

Yvest · 26/05/2018 16:17

Any SE Asian food.

Vietnamese
Thai
Japanese
Chinese

In that order

SharpieHorder · 26/05/2018 16:19

Italian and Scandinavian

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 26/05/2018 16:20

My DH's Mauritian Auntie came over here for an extended visit a few years ago and treated us all to some amazing cooking - basically a version of South Indian food. I have had many Indian restaurant meals, but this lady's food was something else. She made the most beautiful, light fried parcels and a biryani that was absolutely gorgeous. She turned supermarket ingredients into food that was so much better than I could ever cook.

CheeseAndBeans · 26/05/2018 16:20

Mexican or Thai. Definitely getting a Thai takeaway tonight after reading this thread!

puglife15 · 26/05/2018 16:24

Ooh, YABU for making me think so much about food!

Anything super fresh tasting, aromatic, vibrant, heavy on veg and not stodgy, so I'd say Mediterranean in general, and Lebanese / middle Eastern. Ottolenghi type stuff.

I also LOVE Hawaiian poke and good sushi.

SoapOnARoap · 26/05/2018 16:26

Peruvian, Thai or Lithuanian

areyoubeingserviced · 26/05/2018 16:27

I am English ,my dh is Spanish .
We love Caribbean food.

hellokittymania · 26/05/2018 16:28

Vietnamese, but I'm very biased as I lived a huge part of my adult life in Vietnam and was often present at meal times at my friends houses. There is nothing that beats local Vietnamese home cooking.

smudgedlipstick · 26/05/2018 16:30

Mexican

DamnWhyAreAllTheUsernamesTaken · 26/05/2018 16:30

Spanish 😋

Mominatrix · 26/05/2018 16:31

Thai
Vietnamese
Italian
Korean

Mominatrix · 26/05/2018 16:31

Sorry - Not Thai (was thinking of something else) - Japanese tops. I like thai, but it is not in my top 5 cuisines.

Stansmith01 · 26/05/2018 16:32

Mexican and Indian
