To want a prolific cheater to be caught by his wife

It’s non of my business I know but I secretly hope this mans wife catches him one day. He literally hasn’t been faithful at any point in his 20+ year marriage and he’s talks about her like she’s an idiot.
He’s so smug it pisses me off

I hope so! I hope she is playing him, I met her once through work and she is a beautiful very intelligent woman. It’s infuriating to be privy to what he’s been up to. He is adamant that she has no idea whatsoever.

I doubt she is oblivious.
I know someone who gave his wife an STD just a few months before the wedding. Obvious he had cheated but she married him anyway.
She doesn't act like she knows but she does.

I'm in a very similar position to you OP but its much closer to home. YANBU its terrible to have to watch horrible people float through life without facing the consequences of their actions

Some people seem to thrive on the drama. I had neighbours like this, he was forever cheating and laughing at her behind her back, she would periodically scream, shout, throw all his things out, slag him off to anyone who would listen and then they would be back to normal within a week or so.
She treated it like he was some kind of irrepressible rogue and "such a lad", it was like a game to both of them and she wasn't entirely innocent either. So weird to everyone else but I hear they are still together and repeating the cycle many years later.

Nothing wrong with hoping he gets caught but something about you posting...

Really get where you are coming from, I used to know an evil, toxic man and he has lead a double life with his wife for their whole relationship - 15 years plus - and she really DOESNT know. She is really decent and thoroughly innocent. It genuinely bothers me but I feel it is not my place to make her aware and it would be logistically hard to make contact as well. Have considered it many times but something stops me. Try and put it out of your mind for your own peace.

YANBU. I hate people being treated this way. It’s humiliating and he has no respect for her. Sadly I don’t think there’s anything you can do (although if I were the wife I would definitely want to know).
