Would you take in a neighbors parcel?

I’ve never liked my neighbor but tried to stay neighborly best I could without having to socialise, neighbor eventually fell out with me. Stupid reason.
I then later refused to take her parcel in as I don’t want a reason to have to speak with her but then they took an unexpected parcel of mine in. ??
Would you take a parcel for someone that doesn’t like you or was I being mean lol

I wouldn't take them in no. Though it's never happened to me. I fell out with m y neighbour in my old flat and she refused to accept parcels (I know becAuse they would deliver them to a woman on a different floor instead ) I had to refuse a parcel for my neighbour the other day as they never collect, so I'm refusing from now on. The delivery person wasn't pleased.

I often take in parcels for neighbours, and they do the same for me. It make the wheels of life run that little bit more smoothly.

I cannot see any reason why you wouldn't. Even if you don't like her, you'd gain some moral high ground!

I take parcels all the time for my neighbours. I don't have a great relationship with one of them but my view is we've no choice but to live next door.
Maybe this is the opportunity to mend fences with your neighbour?

I do it all the time for various neighbours as they do for me. If I fell out with them I wouldn’t though, just becomes awkward when you have to pick it up. Not sure they’d even know if you refused, the driver would just write down who had taken it, not who had refused to, surely?

I would, but all my neighbours are nice, don't seem to have an excess of parcels coming their way, and will also take mine in if I'm not home.

Yes, I would definitely take in neighbours' parcels. No reason not to really.

Yes, I take in parcels for a neighbour who I've fallen out with. It saves me hassle as they are them expected to do the same for me. We can remain civil to exchange parcels. It's not fair on the delivery driver to make them run around unnecessarily.

Of course! MIL even signed for the neighbours parcel the other day (I didn't think that was allowed). Normal parcels I just leave outside the relevant door, but the signed for one I waited until they were home and took it over.

I really don't see why you wouldn't. Is it so hard to be kind?

Yes unless we had fallen out so badly that I was concerned for my safety I would take in the parcel.

Oh lord not this one again. No, you aren't obliged to take in parcels if you don't want to for any reason. Although they will probably then be less willing to help you out when you need it. Up to you really.

I have obnoxious neighbours on one side (the others are lovely). I found out that the obnoxious ones refused to take in a parcel for me, because the delivery driver wrote on the parcel “Sorry I had to take this down the street- your neighbour at number (x) refused to have it!”
Guess who would never take in one for them either, now?!

I have always taken them in the past but after she fell out with me thought maybe she wouldn’t want to pick it up from me and have to speak. She complains about everything and anything and seems to have a do as I say not as I do attitude.

Yes of course i would, but then my neighbors do the same for me, they are good neighbors and good people.
You really don’t want to develop a feud with next door!

It kind of depends on why you've fallen out and how much you don't like them I think.
I've only ever disliked one neighbor, and it was enough so to not take parcels for her, not that I was ever asked.

i have never fallen out with a neighbour so i don't know. Unless we know details of your falling out I don't think we can judge but you were probably right.

Normally I would have said yes definitely but then I fell out with my neighbour and now I think it's safer for all concerned if I don't Grin. I did once refuse delivery of a washing machine I was meant to store for one neighbour for the weekend though, I like her but my hall is small so I drew the line at a washing machine, especially when she didn't ask in advance and it just turned up

I wouldn't take a parcel in for a neighbour that I had really fallen out with just because it would be excruciating for me & them at pick up.

Yes, I would but mainly to help out the poor overworked and underpaid delivery drivers. We have a few regulars and I like them and want to help them out. They always look so harrassed 😕
I like my neighbours but if they were witches to me I would still do it.

I take parcels in for one neighbour who I talk to regular and lives next door. I refuse them for everyone else as they never ever collect or take the piss.

I took a parcel in for one neighbour once and they took it as a signal to let me take all their parcels and inform all the courier companies (I am assuming on the notes bit of orders) to leave their parcels with me. I had never given permission for this and am not the streets parcel hub.

So aside from NDN, nope.
