Would you take in a neighbors parcel?

I’ve never liked my neighbor but tried to stay neighborly best I could without having to socialise, neighbor eventually fell out with me. Stupid reason.
I then later refused to take her parcel in as I don’t want a reason to have to speak with her but then they took an unexpected parcel of mine in. ??
Would you take a parcel for someone that doesn’t like you or was I being mean lol

It's very simple. If you're at home why not take in the parcel? No matter what you think of them ? Just basic humanity,

Even if you think you hate them (extreme) it's a simple transaction.

Parcel handed to you, parcel handed to them. Done.

mtpicasso · 26/05/2018 08:40

Yes, always.

BadLad · 26/05/2018 08:41

For the nice people on one side of me, sure.

For the freak on the other side, no way. He'd probably accuse me of nicking it and then having a twinge of conscience before bringing it back.

ilovesooty · 26/05/2018 08:42

@BdR2018 how fucking childish.

PositivelyPERF · 26/05/2018 08:42

Even if you think you hate them (extreme)

I absolutely detest my neighbours, on one side. They are utterly evil scumbags and if they dropped dead in the morning, it would affect me less than a bug getting squashed. In other words I wouldn’t take in their parcels. 😁

I’d take in every other neighbour’s parcels, though. 😇

SavageBeauty73 · 26/05/2018 09:07

@BdR2018 so glad I don't know you in real life. Seen you on a few threads and you are an arsehole.

sparklepops123 · 26/05/2018 10:28

Depends which neighbour! There's two on our street I wouldn't the rest I do

justmakemeacuppa · 26/05/2018 11:46

They’re lots of little reasons I don’t like my neighbor 1 example was she complained about me cutting my grass after work. I work full time and bought a house that needed gutting the garden was over grown and so I got to cutting it at 6 when I returned home and was just finishing up just before 8 and she stuck her head over the fence asking what I was doing? (Thought it was obvious) she could also see I had like 1 sq metre left to do and she complained because her daughter 10ish was trying to sleep. Her bedroom is on the front of the house I was working 30 m ish away at the bottom of my garden at the rear of the house. Summer time and still light. This was the first moment I knew she was gonna be an arse. Doesn’t complain about other neighbors who are a lot noisier than me. House opposite takes dogs out at 6am and they bark all way down the road but doesn’t complain about them.

I take them in for most of the street if they're sensible sized ones I'm not going to be tripping over (have to get left on the stairs while I'm waiting for their owners to come home) - just cos the delivery drivers have such a shit set of conditions of employment I try to help them out. Usually someone will take anything in for us as well so it does come back both ways around here - but since we got a small porch installed I just leave that unlocked if I'm expecting anything and instructions to put it in there.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 26/05/2018 13:33

I do now.
I don't really speak to my neighbours much but they seem okay.

In my previous house. I would have rather seen my neighbour crawl in blizzards to the post office. Therefore I used to refuse. Only his though.

He was a total arsehole of a man. Sexist, chauvinistic and obnoxious.
While I lived there he had 2 long term relationships in where the ladies legged it while he was at work.
Even thinking about him now boils my blood.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 26/05/2018 13:53

Oh Jeez- If its just that they compained about noise I would definatly still be taking in parcels. Thats really pretty mild. People don't lose parcel privileges for that with me.

justmakemeacuppa · 26/05/2018 14:20

I did say that was one reason not the only reason before I’m flamed

It sounds pretty petty to me unless there is an issue much more serious than you've mentioned. Seems a pointless thread unless you provide more context.

Jaynesworld · 26/05/2018 15:24

I used too. I then became default delivery address for most homes on my road and was getting several knocks a day. I stopped when they started to put if not home deliver to *my address without asking me and having matresses etc delivered to my house without asking. I do not answer my door now Confused

YoThePussy · 26/05/2018 16:00

I have just come home and found a parcel in my back garden my neighbours have taken in. Marked fragile so they threw it over the fence! Thanks a bunch for that.

MrsLaurac · 26/05/2018 16:03

Normally only my immediate neighbours, my lovely neighbour next door is a sahm so rare but she often takes mine in and often pops it round before I even get chance to go to hers to get it so I'm always happy to take her s in
