Motherhen18

My son was grabbed by his plaster cast by a supply teacher she didn't call out to him or warn him when he called out in pain just stared at him he has witnesses any advice to take I've obviously contacted the school

You need to wait for the school to respond, and decide if you are satisfied with that, before asking that question maybe?

ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2018 17:06

What prompted the teacher to grab him?

soapboxqueen · 24/05/2018 17:06

It depends on the context. If there was a safety issue and the teacher just grabbed the nearest part of him would be understandable whereas a teacher who had just lost their temper wouldn't.

You need to let them investigate and then make a decision as to how to move forward.

Pengggwn · 24/05/2018 17:10

It's a bit strange that you don't say why the teacher grabbed him, like she did it for no reason whatsoever, which, to be honest, sounds unlikely.

Grasslands · 24/05/2018 17:16

Why would touching/tapping/grabbing his plaster cast cause him discomfort?

ShawshanksRedemption · 24/05/2018 17:36

What @Soapboxqueen said. You don't say how old your son is, the circumstances, what happened etc. The supply may have had grounds for grabbing him if he was being unsafe to himself or others.

Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:31

He was facing the back of the classroom

OP posts:
Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:32

Because only a half cast

OP posts:
AmazingPostVoices · 24/05/2018 18:33

We need considerably more context.

Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:35

Sorry ..he was facing back of class room he wasn't rude do you think it is ok for a teacher to grab a child if not violent or being disrespectful

OP posts:
VladmirsPoutine · 24/05/2018 18:36

Can you elaborate? What actually happened? Your post is one long sentence which doesn't offer much.

CrochetBelle · 24/05/2018 18:36

Is this the same teacher that poked a child facing the back of the classroom yesterday? Confused

VladmirsPoutine · 24/05/2018 18:37

x-post. So was teacher grabbing him to make him face the front of the class? Had teacher requested he change position and what led him to be facing the back of the class in the first place?

ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2018 18:37

Are you saying that the teacher wanted him to face the front of the classroom, and grabbed hold of the cast to pull him around? Is the cast on his arm?

Melliegrantfirstlady · 24/05/2018 18:37

So he was facing the wall and she in all likelihood took his arm and faced him towards the front of the class?

I’d say fair enough

Fruitcorner123 · 24/05/2018 18:38

You speak to the school and let them investigate. He may not have told you the full story and if his witnesses are his friends they are quite likely to give the same version as him. If she grabbed him with no warning and no imminent threat of danger to him or from him then it seems to be completely unreasonable but give the school chance to investigate.

Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:39

There's no actual reason other then he was facing back of classroom she neither spoke or called out just came straight up behind him and pulled him round by his wrist which has a half cast due to a box break which was manipulate back into place if he was violent or aggressive I would understand but he didn't even speak which the school has completely back up his story along with the children in the classroom

OP posts:
ShawshanksRedemption · 24/05/2018 18:40

@Motherhen "he wasn't rude"

Facing the back of the classroom if everyone had been asked to face the front and he had purposefully ignored that request, is rude.

However, then grabbing him by the cast to get him to face front is not acceptable.

However, this is me guessing at what happened because you're not actually saying what happened?!?

WilyMinx · 24/05/2018 18:41

I personally think no matter what the context, no one should be grabbing anyone by their plaster cast! Has the school responded?

ShawshanksRedemption · 24/05/2018 18:41

@Motherhen "which the school has completely back up his story"

Ok, so if they agree, what was their reason for the Supply grabbing him?

Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:44

The school verifyed his story to day one thing my son is actually to honest but I did questions it myself but the school and children say exactly same story. I don't think it's right behaviour from a teacher without probably cause

OP posts:
ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2018 18:48

She should have asked him to move first, and grabbing the plaster cast was risky.

If the school are supporting your son's version of events, have they said how they will address this - e.g. feedback to the teacher? Or are they saying, yes it happened, but we don't think there was anything wrong in what the teacher did?

Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:48

That's all that happened he was facing back of classroom no warning or asked to face front even once she grabbed him and he'll called ouch she just stared at him the school verifyed his story and said they are investigating with the agency

OP posts:
ScreamingValenta · 24/05/2018 18:50

It sounds as though the school are taking it seriously and following it up.

Motherhen18 · 24/05/2018 18:52

They agreed with witness that say exactly same version as my son that it happened and have said are investigating with the supply teacher agency I think her behaviour is unexceptable if he was aggressive and it was to defend yourself that's different but no reason is not on
