Yanbu. And I can believe it happened exactly like this actually, mad as it sounds.

My music teacher once got me in a headlock and dragged me along the corridor so I’d go to choir practice lunch time. She didn’t hurt me and was very... eccentric, so I actually found it funny at the time. If anyone did that to my daughter though, I’d be (rightly) fuming . This was in the nineties btw, so long after corporal punishment was the norm at school.

I hope the school gets back to you with a satisfactory response op.

Thank you for your comment and exactly have no reason to lie or not tell truth appreciate you saying that. Me too as I don't lay a hand on my boy so don't expect anyone else to

Excuse me it was just before lesson started and my boy was not rude or disrespectful and wasn't even asked to turn around so no he won't be getting a clip round the ear at all not great advice. "MATRON" !!!!

If he was in the classroom the lesson has started.

But YANBU in that he shouldn't have been grabbed.

auntyflonono · 26/05/2018 09:50

When you talk to the school don't get side tracked about whether the lesson had started.

sonjadog · 26/05/2018 09:57

So the school is taking it seriously and are following it up... What more do you want to happen?

Tiredspice2 · 26/05/2018 09:58

He was facing the back and chatting to a friend when the lesson started, when the rest of the class was facing the front? He is old enough to know how to behave in class.

Tiredspice2 · 26/05/2018 09:59

Sounds like he was being rude and disrespectful. But I think she over reacted a bit.

adaline · 26/05/2018 10:03

Why do some people think it's okay to grab a 13 year old child when they're not paying attention?

Would you like to be grabbed and yanked around if you were daydreaming in a meeting?

What lesson starts with a child turning their back on a teacher to chat to a friend?

Tiredspice2 · 26/05/2018 10:11

It’s absolutely never acceptable for a teacher to behave like this, and hopefully the school will fully resolve this. However, generally, speaking it seems that these days the student can’t be pulled up on their bad behaviour.

Motherhen18 · 27/05/2018 17:16

Well they get in class before it starts most of the children chat before teacher comes in
