Scumbucket made a spur of the moment grab at headline deflection, which the SoKo delegation handed to him on a plate. That's his signature news cycle manipulation ploy for a short term distraction from an uncomfortable story (Avenatti/Stormy in this case). Not long before he used the draconian tariffs to try to move the news cycle on.

Every time some journo/commentator credits this con artist faker with anything more than the base purpose that drives him they give him and his cult succour.

YY to all this, mimi.

Watching that clip of 45 bask in his acolytes' screams of "Nobel, nobel", I'm reminded strongly of this story:

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/01/why-does-donald-trump-hate-dogs/
After the 2016 election, a wealthy Trump supporter offered the new First Family a gift of an especially adorable Goldendoodle. On a visit to Mar-a-Lago, the supporter showed a photo of the dog to Trump. The President-elect asked her to show the photo to his then ten-year-old son, Barron. ‘Barron will fall in love with him,’ Trump said. ‘Barron will want him.’ That’s just what happened. As the supporter told the Washington Post: ‘This big smile came over [Barron’s face], it just brought tears to his eyes.’ Trump never did permit his son to accept the promised dog. That’s something, say, US allies might want to keep in mind before relying on any of Trump’s commitments to them.

Trump got his "they love me" moment, and all else was meaningless to him.

'Sarah Sanders on Tuesday on DOJ briefings on confidential FBI source: “No one from the White House staff will attend.”
Sarah Sanders today to @kaitlancollins: “If you look back at my comment, I said no one’s expected to attend the briefing and that’s actually still correct.” '

Where are the Trumpettes of recent days who told us all off for not giving Trump credit for fabulous Korean progress?

Whistling in the dark

Cheers @cozietozie you reminded me of this song.

"You should know the sound,
Of foolish hearts whistling in the dark"

Really annandale? Did I miss that? That sounds amusing.

From North Korea’s KCNA today. Contrast this title with Trump’s recent tweet that North Korea had sent a “warm and productive” statement. Jarring somewhat.

U.S. Is to Blame for Escalation of Tension on Korean Peninsula

Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- A researcher of the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the DPRK Foreign Ministry made public a commentary titled "Who Is to Blame for Escalation of Tensions on Korean Peninsula" on Friday.

He in the commentary denounced the U.S. for having staged the madcap 2018 Max Thunder joint air combat drills to be the largest against the DPRK from May 11 through 25 and thus ruptured the north-south high-level talks.

Branding the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises as an open challenge to the Panmunjom declaration the north and the south of Korea agreed and made public to the world, the commentary said:

Clear is the ultimate purpose sought by the U.S. in continuously holding joint military exercises going against the atmosphere of détente created on the Korean peninsula.

That is to further spur the formation of the U.S.-Japan-south Korea triangular military alliance and maintain a military edge in Asia-Pacific.

This is clearly evidenced by the involvement of B-52 strategic bombers in the 2018 Max Thunder and the original plan to hold it as the U.S.-Japan-south Korea combined air drill involving fighters of Japan and south Korea.

Last year there were a total of four U.S.-Japan-south Korea missile warning drills under the manipulation of the U.S., an indication that the U.S. has long tried to inveigle Japan into the U.S.-south Korea joint military drill to have Japan form military nexus with south Korea.

All facts clearly prove once again that the joint military exercises which the U.S. holds in the Korean peninsula are the root cause of the escalation of tension in the region and that they have something to do with the U.S. Asia domination strategy.

The international community is required to see with awakened eyes that the U.S. and south Korean warlike forces have escalated the situation through military provocations like the joint military exercises whenever important agreements were reached between the north and the south, and to see who really stems the trend toward peace and reconciliation on the Korean peninsula.

As long as the U.S. and south Korea continue to hold joint military exercises, the sky over the Korean peninsula will not be clear even a single day and it would be hard to guarantee the present trend toward détente and the peace and stability in the region. -0-

So, this Indiana school shooting came up on my feed from News & Guts (Dan Rather's social media news company) earlier this morning. When I googled "Indiana school shootings" just now, I was interested to note that reports from CNN and ABC Australia were returned first, followed by the NYT and local Indiana news sources; on the first page of results, there was nothing from Fox. Is that normal, would you say?

FBI obtains Spanish wiretaps of Alexander Torshin, the Russian banker and Putin ally who met with Donald Trump Jr. at the NRA convention in 2016. "Trump's son should be concerned," says Spanish prosecutor.

'Trump's son should be concerned': FBI obtained wiretaps of Putin ally who met with Trump Jr.

SPAIN

As reported by Yahoo News and the Spanish newspaper El País last year, the Spanish National Police were preparing to arrest Torshin in August 2013, when he was expected to fly to the Spanish island of Mallorca in August for the birthday party of Romanov. The arrest plan, which involved the deployment of more than a dozen police officers at the airport and at the hotel where the party was supposed to take place, grew out of a lengthy investigation headed by Grinda into Russian organized crime and money laundering. As part of the probe, the Guardia Civil wiretapped Romanov’s phone and picked up 33 conversations with Torshin.

But Torshin never showed up for the party and he was never arrested. Grinda confirmed in an interview after his talk that some in the Guardia Civil suspected that Torshin had been tipped off to the arrest plan by Russian officials who had been asked to cooperate in the Spanish probe. But Grinda added that he was unable to prove that was why Torshin never showed up for the party.

Despite the suspicions about his ties to Russian money laundering, Torshin continued to travel frequently to the United States and even showed up as part of a Russian delegation in February 2017 to the National Prayer Breakfast, where he was at one point scheduled to meet with President Trump. (The meeting was canceled the night before, after National Security Council officials raised concerns about it.) More recently, Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden sent multiple letters to the NRA asking about its ties to Torshin and other Russian figures, questioning whether Russian money was funneled to the NRA to help pay for the more than $30 million the group spent on political ads and get out the vote efforts during the 2016 election.
