When I broke my ankle on the ice up on the geyser trail at Yellowstone they had to carry me over the snow on a stretcher-thingy. When the paramedic asked me what year it was I asked "Don't you know?". She asked me again and I told her if she didn't know I wasn't going to tell her and to quit asking me questions because I was in PAIN. I was actually going into shock. It can happen quickly and unexpectedly. And Fentanyl is wonderful!
