I still smell that Constitutional Convention a-coming.

As has been pointed out elsewhere--the letters go back to January.

Mueller was obviously not convinced--at least I don't think he shut up shop and went home.

I don't know whether this has been posted but an article on a constitutional convention. It is Mother Jones but I was still a tad surprised when I read it. It's hard to imagine the left prevailing at the moment.

Isn't the first sentence odd/inaccurate? It raises questions, surely?

• These are T.'s personal lawyers, their duty is to him, not the office of president?

• A lawyer's duty is to act in the best interests of the client, and this generally prevails, except where to do this would require the lawyer to break the law or participate in misleading the court. So is it a lawyer's duty to protect a client?

• What if protecting T. is at odds with protecting the office?

Trump dictated to his legal team what defence he wanted, and now DJT's lawyers leaked it so Trump can see from reaction that it's a pointless and useless defence, and legal team can move onto getting DJT to cooperate with a potentially valid defence strategy.

Giuliani confirmed the contents of the letter to Mueller obtained by the New York Times. He says it's still their legal strategy, telling me "If Mueller tries to subpoena us, we're going to court."
