As a whole, this is a good, balanced piece. While I acknowledge the rationale of the above extract, I think:
a. she had no need to apologise. There was particular horror in that photo/sentiment, juxtaposed with IT's complicity in the cruel abuse of children;
b. (from the same article) 'But if you’re genuinely more exercised about a political appointee being criticized, in whatever terms, than about the families she’s apparently fine with seeing torn apart, then it’s time to rethink when and about what you give a feck.'

Because of course he is. Where else would have him?

FLOTUS Melania Trump hasn’t been seen in public for 22 days. No paparazzi shots, no comment from WH about the rumours surrounding her disappearance.

We were discussing this this morning and came to the conclusion that if she was ok (physically/ mentally), she could easily end the speculation without even speaking by being seen briefly getting out of/into a car.

My thoughts were, going but his documented previous spousal abuse - he’s beaten her very badly and she’s very ill and unable to appear in public My DH thinks he might have beaten or raped her and she’s now “recovered” enough to to refuse point blank to cooperate with the WH - and wants to damage Trump by making sure she stays out of sight.
There’s lots of hate for Melania on Twitter, she’s a gold digger so she deserves it etc- pretty vile IMO. Nobody deserves it.
