to ask if you too have a small podge when you are seated?

It's my main area of issue. I hate it. I have a podgey bump when I'm seated. When I;m stood my stomach is practically flat with a small bulge.

My podge seems to be above my knicker line when seated.

Please tell me it's normal?

I dont have a small podge. Nothing even resembling a small podge. I have a huge barrel of lard.

BigDamnHero · 23/05/2018 15:54

OP, I easily fit into size 6 clothes on my top half and I definitely have a podge when sitting. It's absolutely normal.

cjt110 · 23/05/2018 15:55

Wonder if I could start a #ihaveapodgetoo movement? Grin But seriously, there needs to be more real shit like this out there.

I saw a photo of Colleen Rooney this week on holiday and she had a podge. The title of the "article" was Colleen looks beautiful in her bikini on holiday with son Kai. I could see her small podge and I thought to myself how unusual it was and that next week they'll be slating her for having a podge at all! She looked cracking and there should be more podge filled photos out there to make people, like me with insecurities, young or old, realise it's not just them.

Check this link with a photo of Marilyn Monroe sitting on the beach in a bikini with her podge ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/66708510.html

This is normal! Nowadays they photoshop them out. Once you start noticing that you realise how weird it looks when you don't see the belly folds. :)

kateandme · 23/05/2018 15:56

cjt110 have a look at things like these.my mum lived in these on holiday.

My son is 3 and I still look 5 months pregnant....

ciderhouserules · 23/05/2018 16:02

OP - I think most women have a 'podge', even when standing. I think it's something to do with the womb/internals/curvature of the musculature.. I actually like it. It looks womanly and soft.

My belly overhangs in the same way yours does when I sit. i wear a tankini on hols (mainly because of my moles on upper body) and this hides most of it Grin

cjt110 · 23/05/2018 16:04

Wow...[[https://www.pinterest.com/whvblog/marilyn-monroes-scar/] She looks amazing... and again I didnt spot the scar til Last. Ironically, my scar is in a similar place and looks just as prominent.

SomeAreMoreEqualThanOthers You can just make it out on some photos. Apparently it's from gallbladder surgery.

I hate the word "podge"... it's up there with "moist"... sorry not helpful
But yes, I am slim/average, and have acouple of kind of flab folds sitting down!
Also... if you don't feel comfortable in a bikini, don't wear one, they're not mandatory!

Peanutbuttercups21 · 23/05/2018 16:17

Yes, I have one too

Despite doing tons of exercise

Part of it is extra skin, after having had two 9 pound babies Shock, I never had a flat tum again...

For some reason it does not bother me much

SendYouUpinFlames · 23/05/2018 16:18

I'm 5'6 and size 8. Had 2 kids so definitley have a podge.
It's my main issue too.
There's nothing there when stood, but when I sit down it's all just there like wow where did this pop from?

Honestly it's normal, embrace our baby podges.

kateandme · 23/05/2018 16:22

cjt110 that beautiful hun.there you go then.youll feel swish y and lovely in this.do so wont you :)
put it on and feel good.because your you.
youll be the only one that looks like you will in your bikini and new clothes.isnt that amazing!change your mindset.think good before bad.

Fireandflames666 · 23/05/2018 16:23

I have podge when I sit. I eat healthily but I've had two children so it's mostly skin, lol.

LP17 · 23/05/2018 16:24

@cjt If you are referring to the bit just below your belly button and above your knicker line then yes, I have it too. I recently learned we are predisposed to carry a bit of extra fat there to protect our reproductive organs 😊

RockinHippy · 23/05/2018 16:25

Yes, but I'm a woman, it's normal, I had it when I was size tiny too

kateandme · 23/05/2018 16:25

think about it.if you sat down and your little toes grew a cm would you feel this bad? its the tummy thing.its so sensitively linked to how you feel and looks.so see It as a little toe 1cm longer! :)
