This post will also contain spoilers of the show.

But have just finished season 2 and I’m very shaken. I’m glad I didn’t let my DD16 watch it.

There’s one scene in which a guy is anally raped with a broom handle. This scene has upset me greatly, very much, but there were warnings so my fault.

I was just wondering I am being U to think this scene was too far? Sad

I know the sexual assault of men is an issue not much discussed but the scene was so so graphic and I’m worried that the show is so easily accessible.

Also if any parents were going to let their kids watch 13 reasons why, please bear this very graphic scene in mind. In some ways season 2 is much harder to watch

Think of it his way op, how many films have we seen women being raped? Lots.

This sort of thing needs to shock as male sexual assaults is more common then we think.

I have seen much worse in TV/films, and yes it was shocking but honestly, teenagers these days need to be aware of rape , sexual assault, we can wrap them in bubble wrap.

Where i agree this goes on and its horrific i dont feel rape should be shown in any way but these scene was beyond disturbing and really upset me too and i feel there only goal was to trump season ones shock value and not to raise awareness i agree it was too much

That scene made me feel physically sick, the lack of emotion of the attacker when he does it and the grins on the faces of his friends was horrific, but I felt more uncomfortable with the subsequent connection to school shootings.

Perhaps it was intended to open up dialogue as to why the shooters do it, but I’m not sure I agree all their (shooters) motives are so ‘justifiable’ (for want of a better word)

Also, left it open for a third season...
